Band that’s been around for a bit, but you only discovered it recently?

Just came across a song on Sirius radio last week by a band named Caamp and was intrigued, so I started digging into their shite and became a big fan. As a guitar player, I’d like to learn a few of their tunes…

Along those lines. Echo and the Bunnymen. Only recently realized that they were/are a real band. Very
The Cure-like.
Expanding on "recent" I only found John Prine about 5 years ago.

Sheepdogs. Been around since 2004. Great band. Had a concert this Wed. in Atlanta. Couldn't go but tickets were a shocking $18.

Futurebirds
Saw them in Athens at the Georgia Theater while I was in town for business. Great band.

Escape the Fate
I missed this band and pretty much all the similar Myspace Emo/Scene bands of this era at the time. I was mostly listening to post-grunge like Breaking Benjamin, Tool, Audioslave, Chevelle, and Shinedown back in 2008. Then, in 2009 I started my jazz, funk, and jam band phase.

Oddly enough, Slayer. Having had only small batch tastes of them when I was younger, I thought they were very overrated and were subsequently the weakest link within the "big four." I appreciate them a lot more now than I did decades ago. Probably because I delayed receiving them so long, they are all of a sudden "fresh" to my product-of-80s-metal ears.

I’ve been doing something similar with MegaDeath recently. I listened to Metallica a good amount, as well as Slayer, Anthrax, Iron Maiden, and Pantera (out of those, only really liked Metallica and Iron Maiden), but I have been giving Megadeath a lot more play recently.

Guided By Voices - learned of them watching the IT Crowd. They've been around since 1983 and have released 35 full length albums.

Great band. I really only knew Dead Man’s Party and Weird Science during their heyday but I started getting into the rest of their music in the late 90’s. Sadly that was after they performed their final concert.
Check out Boingo, their last studio album. It’s really strong and passes the acid test.

You should check out Falling in Reverse then.

As soon as I heard “Situations”, I dove headlong into Falling in Reverse
I’m trying to find that whole scene now. So much good, cringy, fun, heavy, ridiculous stuff from that time that I just completely never knew existed up until, like, 2 years ago when I started trying to put together a pop punk cover band.
We’ve been trying to mix in some different stuff than the usual early 2000’s stuff that a lot of bands play. The show we did Saturday featured Senses Fail, Mayday Parade, My Chem, Flyleaf, Paramore, and a “unique” version of “Hashpipe” by Weezer

Not a band, but I just recently started listening to Laura Nyro.
Pretty impressive catalog.

I did not know how good Wilco was until a couple years ago.
