Playing the Orpheum on the 21st. Wish I could make it but no chance. Report back and let us know how it was. I’ll catch them the next go around.

At the Machine Head show last night at the HOB they were handing out fliars for the Ghost show.

Everyone I heard, including myself, either simply laughed or said “frick Ghost”.

Why? They make good music. Just because you metal heads don't like it doesn't mean it's bad

I’ll be there!

As for the ‘frick Ghost’ crowd, a lot of harder rock musicians and fans either hate or love Ghost. No in between from what I can tell. Saw them open for Maiden a while back and most in the crowd were like ‘WTF?’. It will be interesting to see them as a headliner.

That's Machine Head fans though. Most people going to Ghost would laugh at the idea of going to a Machine Head show, myself included.

That’s the thing though...they don’t. Haha

I don’t give too shits about their aesthetics or theatrics. Hell, with the right talent, it might actually be a cool concept.

I also don’t give a damn about their Satanic lyrical overtones. Although, it does come across as contrived and silly more than anything.

Their sound is bland. It’s neutered and has no bite to eat. The fact that all of these goddamn music critics keep insisting that they’re this monumental metal act is downright ridiculous.

But genre labels aside, I wouldn’t care for them regardless of whether or not they are metal or rock.

Me being a “metalhead” has nothing to do with it. I grew up on ‘70s hard rock and I don’t need guttural vocals or blast beats to appreciate quality music.

The fact that Ghost is branded as a sort of retro act recapturing the ‘70s style only further illustrates how mediocre they are.

And Brosef, I’m not purporting that Machine Head is that much of an artistically intriguing act. But, their music does have balls.

Honestly, I am a hardcore old school metal guy and I love the shite out of Ghost. I think they are one of the best things going in music today. (Now that may be more of an indictment of current music than Ghost being great....but I stand by the statement)

you do realize they have kinda nixed the whole satanic overtones in their recent albums. Like the new album is all about the Black Plague.

I like ghost because of thier inclusion of synths and just overall catchy songs. But i don't really care how technically sound an artist is.

God forbid a hard rock band make music that is catered to the masses and a fun live show. Prequelle is fun as hell.

They are going all out on this tour. Tobias has a grand vision for this band, something lacking in music today. They just played the Forum in Los Angeles and will be playing the Barclay's Center in Brooklyn later in the tour. Supposedly they are planning a US arena headlining tour for next year. Dance Macabre and Square Hammer live at the Forum

It wouldn't surprise me if Ghost ends up being a satanic version of the Tran siberian Orchestra one day.

I'm not going this time but I recommend it. Not just for the show; the audience they attract is almost more entertaining than the band. When they played the Varsity last time I had a ball, mostly just from meeting a bunch of interesting, odd characters hanging out around us.

I've been to hundreds of shows and Ghost is among the most purely entertaining and enjoyable live acts I have ever seen. Looking forward to tonight's show bigly. They frickin rock.

Can anyone confirm that there is no opening act? Ghost takes stage at 8:00?

TIA
