Doubtful, Latoya just gave the Superdome full capacity.. why would an outdoor event like Voodoo cancel

and I'm afraid to ask, but where did you hear this?

C3 is announcing the lineup for Shaky Knees on Wednesday, it's the weekend before Voodoo... I'm very doubtful on Voodoo being cancelled

If I'm wrong, fine.. there hasn't been much good about Voodoo in a long time.. I just doubt it's getting cancelled

Well Jazz Fest is in early October so that gave me concern that they could do 2 large music festivals in a 4 week period. It can be done but I'm not holding my breath.
Yes, VF usually announces lineup over the summer but the lack of ANY chatter leads me to believe it isn't happening this year. Hope I am wrong.

French Quarter Fest & Buku are in October as well..

Booking overseas acts right now is a mess, which is delaying a lot of things.

Daytona Beach’s Rockville festival has to be seen to be believed. The festival appears to be run by the He-Man Woman Hater’s Club, with a total of nine women performing among the 69 acts listed, and headliners include Metallica, Nine Inch Nails, Disturbed, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Rob Zombie, Lamb of God, Social Distortion and Staind.

I think I may have given the biggest eyeroll of my life.

I'm assuming its a no-go. October looks too busy in NO. They are probably waiting til last minute bc they will be issuing some refunds.

They've had months to book bands and C3 is running Shaky Knees the week before, it doesn't really make much sense... but whatever

Word is a lot of the big corporate owned events are looking at those events which they know can crush it for fall of 2021. If the numbers don’t add up thought it’s keep powder dry and come back in 2022.

Why? It doesn’t share the same venue as any of the other locations.

Really the only stress is splitting acts between jazz fest on one stage and the VERY scaled back buku on their other stage. Cant have the same bands as JF but otherwise zero reason to bail as the only actual October festival

I'm guessing if we don't hear anything in the next week or two, that's not good news.. the rumor is because there's a lack of bands to book but that sounds ridiculous because there's plenty of bands they could book (ie the Strokes are playing Outside Lands Friday, could easily play the Sunday of Voodoo)

from the What Podcast twitter...

"News: the city of New Orleans asked JazzFest to cut down to 1 weekend. They said no.

The city is also the primary reason Voodoo is a lean “not happening” as of right now."

Didn't Staind's front man go country???? How much cred does he have going back to hard rock???
