Any fans of Beach House?

I bought the Teen Dream album, loved the whole thing. It was like Mazzy Star reincarnated.
I forgot about them for a while, though. Didn't get around to listening to "Bloom". Then one day a friend sent me a link to Space Song on Spotify. I loved the song, and loved it even more when I saw a YouTube video of the song paired up 2001: A Space Odyssey. It blew my mind.
LINK
So I went ahead and bought the "Depression Cherry" CD (I'm poor and drive an old car that has only CD playing capabilities).
I'm still kind of getting acquainted with it, but Levitation is a great opener.
Anyway, any other fans of this band? Is "Bloom" any good?

Some lovely songs to listen to whilst chilling. Teen Dream and Bloom are my favourites. I think they have a new album out but not listened to it.
I saw them live a few years and found them a bit underwhelming to be honest.

Bloom is every bit as good as teen dream. Depression cherry improved a lot now that I went back to it recently.

I could make an argument for Teen Dream being firmly in the top half of a top 10 list of albums of the last decade. That might sound like an overstatement, but it's really fricking good
Not a bad song on that one. Bloom is also good, but not quite on its level. Depression Cherry is solid but another step down from those two.
But I listen to Teen Dream at least once a month. It captures a certain tone of melancholy most bands only dream of being able to do. It's a legit masterpiece of an album.

Been listening to them a bit myself. I can see the Mazzy comparison but My Bloody Valentine is what really pops into my head given all the layering in their music.

Their first two albums, self titled and “devotion,” are two of my all time favorite records to play during the winter. Devotion is a particular favorite of mine. Saw them in San Francisco probably 8-10 years ago, and it was a fantastic show. sadly I haven’t really enjoyed anything after those first two albums.

I don't get the MBV comparison. I feel My Bloody Valentine has much more of an edge. More aggro, I guess.

I like them. Bloom is probably my favorite, Teen Dream is close though. They are one of my wife's favorite bands. Saw them at the Civic a few years back, and was an okay show. I think they are playing there again in May.

Yeah. Bloom and Teen Dream are both really good. Also always dug the Master of None track off that first album. Never seen them live but imagine it could get a little "one note" after awhile

Yeah, I don't mean like mirror images of one another....just the vocal styling and the layering in production. The music itself, I'd agree with you, MBV is certainly more rock-ish than BH.

Big fan. They just released a new song last month and have a new album out soon. If you like them, you might check out Diiv as well.

Gila and Apple Orchard were my favorites. I love that sound. Teen Dream is great as well. Bloom is good, but I prefer the dreamy, slow, less polished stuff.

I have seen them twice and both times they were just ok. They are on tour again, I doubt I will check them out.

I saw them once and they were awesome. Bloom tour.

Saw them on the Bloom tour as well. I wasn't blown away, but I enjoyed it.

They were OK, but the show was imminently forgetable. I have a pretty high bar for a show.

Big Beach House fan. Every album is good and Teen Dream, Bloom and DP are all great to me.
But I agree with everyone's assessment of the live show; it could use some life.
