the best thing to come out of the roots was scott storch, the rest of the band has resorted to playing lame talk shows or have moved on to acting.

Like I said, it's easier to just troll these threads instead of having a good debate.

You should be banned from the Music Board for putting these two in the same thread.

Roots - "I Got You"

Is one of the greatest songs from the 90s.

WIth that said...

You lost me with your lack of having 2pac in the top 10. smh.

I was speaking, to my guy 'Riq and
How she was desperately seeking to Organize in a Konfusion
Using no protection, told H.E.R. on Resurrection
Caught up in the Hype Williams, and lost H.E.R. direction
Getting eight/ate in sections where I wouldn't eat H.E.R
An under the counter love, so silently I treat H.E.R
Her Daddy'll beat H.E.R., eyes all Puff-ed
In the mix on tape, ****s had her in the buff
When we touch, it was more than just a frick
The Police
In H.E.R. I found peace
(like who) Like Malcolm in the East
Seen H.E.R. on the streets of New York, tricking off
Tried to make a hit with H.E.R. but my dick went soft
Movin weight, losing weight
Not picky with who she choose to date
To confuse the hate with her struggle I relate
Close to thirty
Most of the ****s she know is dirty
Having more babies than Lauryn
She started showing early
As of late I realized, that this is H.E.R. fate
Or destiny that brings the best of me
It's like God is testing me
In retrospect I see she brought life and death to me
Peace to us collectively, live and direct when we perform
It's just coffee shop chicks and White dudes
Over H.E.R. I got into it with that **** Ice Cube
Now the fight moved to in life, making the right moves
Besides God and family, you my life's jewel
Like that y'all

DMX top 10?

Method Man best rapper in Wu Tang?

You're not very good at this.

2-pac became famous and revered because of his thug persona.

that's simply not true. The line of rappers with a thug persona stretches around the world, and none of them acheived the reputation of 2Pac. So, clearly, something else is at play. And considering Maya Angelou once complimented his ability as a lyricist, I'm willing to spot him that one. She knows a few things about language.

It's just my opinion.

FWIW, I do think "hit em up" is an absolute masterpiece. The emotion he conveys in that track is just off the charts. You can just feel his rage. That's a top notch lyrical performance, and it has nothing to do with rhyme structure or the actual words he's rhyming. It's all his voice.

None of them came even close to matching Tupac's thug persona. And I'd like to hear to you refute that.

Make a top ten then.

Who was the best Wu Tang rapper, in your opinion?

Also, Maya Angelou complimented Muhammad Ali's poetic ability. So maybe I won't take her opinion as gospel.

Jay-Z, easily IMO.

Tupac doesn't have a consistent body of work. His albums are not great.

Reasonable Doubt and The Black Album are better than anything Tupac did.
