Did Tallahassee ever consider non-lethal means? Did he try to reason with them?

But like the first-person-shooter video games the film's "Double Tap" title references, society can't just passively sit back and accept an attitude that mocks pacifism and makes light of such

It is a silly zombie movie, but I think most of you are missing the silly point that he is trying to make, I think the concern is that the protagonists seem to getting a bit too much enjoyment from killing, as opposed to wringing their hands about the fact that the zombies were formerly human.

That take was dumb.

That depends... are zombies actually alive or just undead?

Actually, it's at 75% now and most of the major reviews seem way more reasonable.
The consensus seems like it's a fun movie with a likeable cast that doesn't go for any deeper significance. It just tries to be fun and it is.
Not every zombie movie has to be emotionally overwraught about the bleak future. The first Zombieland wasn't, and it would be a weird tonal shift if the second one was. The positive reviews also seem to say fans of the first will like the second, because it is consistent without being repetitive.
If you want an emotional zombie movie, a horror based zombie movie or social commentary, I wonder why you ever thought Zombieland 2 would do those things.

They had a double feature that played last night, I went and caught it. I don't usually like zombie movies, but I liked these. It's not a cinematic masterpiece people will be discussing every nuance of for the next hundred years, but it's good for what it is. Like you said, it's a fun movie with a likeable cast. Sometimes it's good to just have something like that to unwind and just enjoy. Not every movie has to be some deep commentary about the world.

Well, there simply HAS to be a better way than killing them. Surely some common ground can be found. Perhaps a few losses to the zombie horde should be an acceptable alternative to killing them. Why do they need to be killed? Just wound them or chase them off.
Round them up on ranches, slaughter them humanely, and sell the meat on the free market.
Pacifism + Capitalism baby!!

It's a lot of fun, just like the first one.
Expecting something serious from this film is a fool's errand. It's not Remains of the Motherfricking Day, people.
Caught it at the premiere last night, and there were solid laughs throughout. To the best of my recollection, the trailer doesn't cover much past halfway through the film, so they've got that going for them... which is nice.
The addition of Zoey Deutch as Madison (she was Stephanie, the hottie daughter in Why Him?) is the best part of the movie, IMO. She was consistently laugh out loud funny. And then I remember that some folks truly are that dumb, and it makes me sad.
I wish there were more vignettes throughout the movie like the Zombie Kill of the Week, from the first one. There are a couple, but it needs more.

Saw it last night, I think I like this one better than the first one and I love the first one. I agree that the addition of Madison added some truly laugh out loud parts.

the wife and I saw it as well - and we laughed our arse off. the addition of one segment was something i never knew i needed to see, but now that I have my life is complete. i won't spoil it, but those that have seen it will know what I am referencing.
