I wouldn't consider it an action movie. More of a historical epic. Just my opinion, though.

If you count Raiders as an action movie, it leads the way for me. I've said this before on here, but Raiders is the GOAT movie period for me.

So:

Raiders
Die Hard
T2
Predator

I considered Aliens and Jurassic Park, but I'm not sure if they're more sci fi. If they're action, I might sub one for Predator so you have one monster action movie.

I can’t believe The Rock has only been mentioned once.

Mad Max Fury Road
Die Hard
Big Trouble in Little China
The Great Escape

If Great Escape doesn't qualify, then The Matrix. We forget how great it is because of the sequels.

There's a separate list for cheesy, over the top but awesome action movies.

Con Air
Commando
The Rock
Face/Off

How three of those movies star Nic Cage is beyond my comprehension.

Although and awesome arse movie (seriously watch it if you havent), im not sure kung fu movies should be dropped into the "action" movie status.

You should replace Commando with "Gone in Sixty Seconds"

Pure popcorn action movies only:

Die Hard
John Wick
Lethal Weapon
First Blood

Don't know how you top that unless you bring in historical/war, heist or sci fi movies.

For "Movies with action scenes in them":

Die Hard
Terminator 2
Saving Private Ryan
The Predator

Fun topic. My list:

Die Hard
Predator
Raiders of the Lost Ark
The Matrix

Was tough to leave off T2, but I decided to go with variety and not have two Arnie movies, even though I think he is the GOAT action movie star. I also kind of regret no kung-fu movie. Maybe Matrix counts. Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon is a good one.
