After watching “The Departed” the other day, it got me thinking about movies set in Boston.

Here’s a few off the top of my head:
The Departed
Boondock Saints
Good Will Hunting
The Social Network
Celtic Pride
The Town

Hard to top Good Will Hunting, but you have plenty to compete for runner up.

I'd throw Ted in as well. And Gone Baby Gone.

Say what you will about Sean Penn, but that moment he realizes his daughter is dead is one of the more harrowing scenes ever put to film. It made me feel physically ill when I first saw it.

Is that my daughter in there?

Great movie and book. Same author, Dennis lehane, wrote this and Gone Baby Gone which is like a 5 book series.

My list:
Mystic River
Gone Baby Gone
The Town
Good Will Hunting

I like how they use different and iconic spots in Boston to film The Town

But Mystic River was a hell of a movie

Manchester by the Sea has a 1 minute scene in Boston, does that count?

That might be the most realistic reaction to a situation like that I've ever seen in a movie. It's really hard to watch
