Conan's father talk.

Just a simple minute talk but so powerful. The father is not trying to be friends with his son like in modern movies. Conan's father is playing the role of father, teaching his son about their culture and life. Young Conan just sitting there and absorbing what his father is telling him, does not interrupt. And there's no need for "I love you son" since you can hear that in the voice. Great writing and acting. And it doesn't hurt to have music from Basil Poledouris

"The secret of steel has always carried with it a mystery. You must learn its riddle, Conan. You must learn its discipline. For no one - no one in this world can you trust. Not men, not women, not beasts..." [Points to sword] "This you can trust."

This one would have been it, if he'd just phrased it differently.

Nobody ever said, "Want to have a catch". Just ask, "Will you throw with me?"

"Will you play catch with me?" is childish, but would have been 10 times better.

Not really a conventional father son movie, but this one has incredible father/son scenes.

Also a great one:

It’s hard to pick one Andy and Opie scene but I think the Opie the Birdman episode is up there.

While not a tearjerker or anything, Eugene Levy giving Jim the sex talk in American Pie was hilarious.
