The 1985 movie is a seemingly forgotten classic.

I watched the 1985 one this weekend.

Still great and still holds up.

This knight scene looks really good even today.

Watched the first couple of episodes last night. Its pretty good. Good writing and acting so far. Little on the cheesy side in places but not bad.

Like that they are pairing him up with Moriarty knowing they become arch enemies later in life.

As always, with Ritchies style you have a period piece with modern music similar to Peaky. Some don't like this but I do.

And the Asian princess is pretty hot.

We thought the first couple episodes were good too. I like how they dumped the whole season so no waiting.

It is reminiscent of the Sherlock movies with the slowed down fights, music, action, etc. Well done.

Yeah so Moriarty was in the last RDJ and Jude movie. Did the movie explain that they were once friends? It’s been a long time but I don’t recall anything about them being friends.

No its a new take but I don't hate it. Makes me want to see how they become enemies.

That original movie wasn't that bad. I had totally forgotten about it until the trailers came across for the new one.

I made it 22 seconds into the trailer before I added it to the watchlist.

When they meet in Moriarty's classroom in the second movie I remember it being pretty clear they had never met. Im going to watch Part 2 again now, I've seen it a hundred times.

I watched episode 1 last night. I enjoyed it. I'll continue it (though I'll continue it on the high seas because when the frick did Amazon add commercials to their stuff!?)

I’m out. I know this is a reimagining but Arthur Conan Doyle mapped out how Holmes meets Moriarity and LeStrade. I enjoyed the 1985 reboot and was able to suspend my knowledge of the books but this one lays it on too thickly. It’s also a bit too hip for a Sherlock Holmes story.

I enjoyed the first three or four episodes but then it took a bad turn. I watched to the end just to see how they wrapped it up but I really hated what they did with the story. I cannot recommend watching it, and I'm a big fan of Guy Richie.

that sucks bc the first three episodes aren't worth watching. I haven't even gotten to this bad turn yet.

Came back to post the same thing. Really enjoyed it to a point then it went off the rails.

I’m about done with the season. It’s not art but it’s entertaining to watch prior to going to bed every night.

it does go off the rails but it does get back on the rails. it's not really true Sherlock Holmes stuff but it's pretty good. Mycroft is the most accurate part of the series.

This show has been really fun. I only have a few episodes left. I’ll be bummed when it’s over.
