It was one of the dumbest movies I’ve ever seen

I’m with you, went in more excited for a movie in some time. I left being as disappointed as I can remember and the wife wanted to walk out.

No he's 100% wrong. Their early work... Yes, but once they got so popular they could do what they wanted without oversight the talent of that group was evident. Their later work was transcendent.

The vast majority of anyone who has any credibility in the music industry all agree these were some of the best songs ever written. Some of their songs are legit pieces of art not just "pop music that was popular at the time".

As for the movie. It was fun and enjoyable but not great.

He's 100% right. If nobody had ever heard of the beatles and their stuff was released today it MIGHT crack the top 40. Music isn't like that anymore.

bullshite, Yesterday, Let it Be, Help (kick as version in the movie) Elanor Rigby and many other songs would absolutely be smash hits whenever released and frankly pop and rock wouldn't be exactly what it is today if those songs and the Beatles never existed....

Every singer/songwriter who has existed since the mid 60s was influenced by the Beatles or someone else who was influenced by the Beatles

I didn't like the ending. It would of been better if he had to deal with the dilemma of the relationship vs the music without other people knowing his secret. How it ended was just dumb for me.

That I agree with, once he met the man at the beach there was no reason to reveal the source and no reason to feel guilty about it

It would have been a better movie without the predictability. Like if he made the songs and played gigs and no one ever cared. Or if he wasn't a good singer and couldn't get anyone to sing it right for him. just TV movie.

If you like Lily James watch Baby Driver. Great movie plus she's a smoke show in it talking with a southern accent.

I also agree.

Living with the conflict would be more interesting.

I finally got around to seeing this movie. I thought it was pretty good. Definitely worth seeing. I mean, it not Citizen Kane but definitely doesn't deserve some of the hate it is getting here.

1. Below Average Movie. The lead just wasn't charismatic enough so it never worked
2. Love the Beatles, so this result stunk.
3. Lily James is a definite smoke show. Cinderella, Downton, etc.
4. I'm in agreement that the Beatles music would not be #1 hits today. Not that it wouldn't be popular in some sense, but no way do they see the same level of success. Tastes are so much different now. They might be Coldplay. That's a terrible thought, but true. But they wouldn't be the Beatles as we know them as transcendent artists that changed everything.

Watched it with the wife the other night. Not a Beatles fan, but I thoroughly enjoyed the premise. Geezus, I can’t remember the last time I watched a good regular movie and not some CGI or Superhero crap. Very enjoyable movie.

If you like Lily James, then watch Baby Driver. Its a great movie anyway, but she is more attractive in that movie.

I first saw her in Baby Driver and felt the same way you do.
