The only realistic part of that episode is the Native Americans getting a billion dollar property and proceeding to immediately tear it down. Just like the rez when public housing is built and given to them. Tear the copper plumbing out of the walls, gut the place, and then complain about your living conditions.

I loved how Beth stormed off to kill Jamie without telling anyone her “plan”

But her “plan” involved RIP figuring out, on his own, Beth left to kill Jamie, and for him chase after her, speeding at 120 mph behind her to make up for the lost time, and to guess on his first try, specifically that Jamie would be home at that exact time beating her arse and strangling her to death so RIP could intervene at the last second allowing her to stab Jamie, knowing RIP would be there with help to willingly dispose of the body of the active attorney general in broad daylight somehow knowing there were no cameras anywhere or surveillance AFTER she tipped off the press into thinking Jamie may have killed the sitting governor AND after having previous witnesses IN THE AG’s office see her beat his arse in his own office and threatening him more than once.

Grant plan Beth

What a retarded bitch

I think I heard Rainwater say you can only traverse the land by horseback, no vehicles? Are they gonna build their own houses there?

I think he also said that the land will return back to its natural form. Nothing will be developed on it.

So how do they plan on paying the taxes on that land annually if it's not producing income to pay those taxes?

I'm sure they will put it into a conservation trust, or annex it into the rez, but not without some legal challenges from the county or state of Montana. You think the county is just going to let that much land walk off its tax rolls?

So are the Indians just going to sit around and get drunk? Hunt Buffalo, if they even have folks who even know how anymore?

Yeah I don’t know how all that works

This is a good place to insert that you never actually "own" land, you are just renting it from the government. Don't pay your rent (taxes) and they will take the land and evict you.

Are the Indians of that region skilled with cattle? Would they have the money to start buying cattle enough cattle to make it viable, would they even want to?

Again so many questions.

I think (I was half arse paying attention at this point), that he said it would become National Forest. I remember, specifically, because I'm into mountain bikes and he said something like "No vehicles, no bikes, only people on horseback allowed" or something along those lines (which is a big current issue/debate around national forests and access to mountain bikes).

Wasn't it pretty much already in it's natural form? Aside from some fences and a couple houses and barns, it WAS in it's natural form, wasn't it?

In reality, a ranch that large would have some fairly extensive infrastructure. What they showed on TV was the "pretty" part.

well let's not even count rip coming in for interference....

What if Jamie drops dead on tire iron shot number one? Might be tough for him to deliver that beating your plan hinged on

Do Indian reservations pay any taxes now, at all?

yes

I had to laugh at them stripping the cedar shingles off the house. Must have value to someone that would actually use them.

It's a little more than that. He took her to an abortion clinic on the reservation rather than in town to avoid a "Dutton" being seen in public going to get an abortion. The policy on the reservation was they had to be sterilized and Jamie did not give Beth that piece of information.
So he did what he felt necessary to protect the Dutton name?

This is super smart Beth who can outsmart just about everyone on the Earth, out drink them, out fight them, and completely emasculate any man interested in her "wares". Yet, she can't figure out that it was Jamie's skirt that tried to advance his career? He wasn't behind the hit, but Travis the dipshit decided it was what all the wine moms wanted to see.

When your characters get too big for the show, you paint yourself into a corner. The money...absolutely rocks. But you can't kill this character, even when it makes perfect sense and needs to happen. Instead, you mold the narrative around them, and alienate any casual audience the show might have. Then it's, wrap it up quick, and pray you can create the spin off quick enough so your niche audience doesn't get sucked in by some other stupid show.
