This may be the worst storyline this show has tried to date. I’m not near the hate watch stage. I just watch it for what it is, but if Kayce starts hitting the pipe and chanting next week, I might die from laughter.

While I haven't been a on ranch in TX west of Hungerford, no one wears spurs once work/riding is done. Much less after getting cleaned up and going to dinner.
Also I now agree with whichever poster said he is going to turn it over to the Indians. The scene with the kid definitely foreshadowed that.

This is probably a silly gripe because it’s still better than most of the stuff on TV but man….they’re trying way to hard to build on and capitalize on the Yellowstone brand instead of putting out a quality show. I have not really liked this season and I can’t help but think that the attempt build multiple spin-offs is siphoning away from the actual show.

This episode was 1:15 and the extra 15 was Sheridan doing horse tricks in an empty arena. This has become a vanity project for Sheridan.

Yellowstone has turned into the worst kind of soap opera. It's plumbing depths that Sons of Anarchy never reached.

I mean.., there’s plenty to dislike, but the cutting/reining stuff is so so bad. So bad.
I can tolerate just about everything else about the show, but the blatant and ungainly insertion of his own persona into the story has ruined TS as a writer. On top of that, the camera work and quality takes on some kind of weird mockumentary feel, because he’s using real cowboy stars (who he’s using the show as a way to rub elbows with) who can’t act aaaaand… they literally are shooting the scenes with a different camera or filter or lighting or something. So weird.

You know who was the lucky one in this series? The brother who died in episode 1.
His gimmick was probably telling knock knock and dad jokes to lighten the mood.
Also, have they ever even mentioned that guy again? Has John forgotten he had another son? Beth has no stories about her older brother.

I just always wonder if these people who write these shows, spend months refining scripts to produce 10 episodes go "you know, this show has absolutely no continuity. Should we fix that?"
This show is no longer about preserving Yellowstone. They need to just sign a 100 year lease contract with the Natives. After 100 years it reverts to Native owned but Yellowstone Ranch maintains usage and access rights. Land can't be developed and it stays preserved. The end.
The whole show is beyond dumb. It'll end just as dumbly.
