I’m completely flabbergasted on who funded the attack.

It doesn’t sound like Market Equities was involved judging by the white haired ladies conversation on the tarmac.

Jamie’s dad is too broke to pay for it.

I think Jamie is too obvious.

I thought Roarke was gonna drop hints as his last words but nothing.

I got nothing, I have no idea and I love it.

Anybody else get a kick out of Kasey just laying out in a ghillie suit all day in the front yard?

i just have a feeling she's been playing John the whole time.

Likely. The actress is already listed as a regular character on a Law & Order spinoff, so she may be on her way out.

Nobody speaks the way she does; she's honestly one of the most poorly written characters in my tv viewing experience. Her dialogue is ridiculous and completely unbelievable. Her arc, while it possibly could be interesting is filled with jumping the shark moments.

Spot on, excellent analysis. I’ve been thinking the same thing (less eloquently) since season 2. She is so over the top badass, it’s laughable. No one- male or female- acts like that and doesn’t eventually cross the wrong person resulting in a life changing experience.
I have no issue with far-fetched writing or liberties taken with characters. But her character is so unbelievable, it’s an affront and a liability to the show.

And all they have to do is tone it down a bit and you could look past it. But they just keep pushing things with Beth’s character that you cannot ignore. It’s satirical at this point.

Thank you! It’s like she’s on an Aaron Sorkin show where every time she talks it’s the most witty and badass put down. Nobody talks like that

Nobody walks in a business meeting and throws a vodka at a guy

I think they are playing up her popularity. I was at a country music festival not long ago and I saw a ton of yellowstone shirts and most of them were Karen’s wearing Beth shirts with some ridiculous quote.

she's definitely over the top. But, she's a spoiled child in a rich/powerful family who has always been able to do/say whatever she wants knowing her family will bail her out of any trouble.

If the beating she took in season 2 didn't change that, being blown up won't.

she does have some great lines though.

"oh daddy, the blush was fricked out of me a long time ago".

I thought the same thing. A rattlesnake bite rarely kills anybody, and definitely not in a minute.

Her walking out of that blown up building...a building in which she was 20 feet away AT MOST from the bomb...is entirely too far fetched. As I've said already, she has many jumping the shark moments in this show, but this one is by FAR the biggest one.
Ummmmm.......a bombing, a coordinated hit-attempt on an elected official AND the guy who just vacated the same position.....All at the same time? ATF, FBI, Homeland, they would descend massively on Montana. Instead, the Indian cheif and the Dutton's are doing all the investigation.

I just don't find her to be all that hot.
Kacey's wife is so much hotter and so is Rainwater's lawyer.

If it is, would this be if any type of significance really?"

Yes, it's the origin, which is tied into Dances With Wolves. It links John Dutton to John Dunbar.

The events in Dances With Wolves occur around 1863-64, 65. I assume that John Dunbar was somewhere near 28yo, meaning he was born in 1835. It is fair to assume that he and Stands With a Fist conceived a child/children not long after leaving the winter camp, heading westward into Montana. Not knowing whether the army were still after him, it would be logical that he change his name, ...Dunbar to "Dutton". Dutton might be an easy switch from Dunbar. He and Stands With a Fist then settled on the frontier near Bozeman around 1866 with their newborn son, around the same time that the first cattle arrived in the area. This became the future for the Duttons, with their son (the future John Dutton's great grandfather) establishing the Yellowstone Ranch. The rest is history...

John Dutton's grandfather born around 1895, and his father born around 1925, rounding it out for John to be born in 1955, which is when Kevin Costner was born. Kaycee was born 1985 and Tate in 2010.

Make sense?

it's fun to think about, but in 1883 the patriarch of the family is James Dutton and he already has 2 sons that are 12 or older, so the timeline doesn't really work.

I don’t really disagree with you, but by now you should already know that you’re just going to have to accept these things. If you can’t, this show is probably not for you. There’s nothing wrong with that, but these threads are going to be terrible if we all just sit around bitching about what was or wasn’t realistic. I mean, this family’s body count is starting to rival the Sopranos.
