Misty is even crazier than I thought.

My favorite part of this episode is when after they bring back the dead deer, I think Natalie asks, "So what now?" and the coach says they need to bleed it out and asks if anyone wants to give it a try. In the background, Misty shoots her hand straight up in the air and has a crazy, goofy smile on her face. Of course, the coach completely ignores her and picks Shauna

Adult Shauna hallucinating teen Jackie was very interesting. Curious to see what happened to her out in the woods.

And tripping the coach who is already probably going to die from an infection. I can't help but thinking maybe Jackie isn't dead and is the one sending the postcards. Probably off on this one, but maybe they think she died or something and she didn't. They are definitely putting emphasis on the viewer not knowing her fate until they want you to know her fate.

Well you have competing ideas of what’s moral and ethical. People can and do exist in a society that functions. There are just also people that choose the life of a robber, thug, drug addict, etc..

Others choose to produce for society.

I guess they're going to have to do a major time jump with them lost in the woods. 4 eps in and they're still laughing and having a decent time shooting rifles and scavenging

We have a very long way to go between here and cannibalism.

I don't get why half the episode was Shauna and mechanic going out and having a good time. Seem like way too much filler?

Yeah, this show started strong but has really slowed down lately. These past few episodes have been too much filler. Unfortunately it seems like we aren't going to get very far this season and they're slow playing a lot of the mysteries for a potential future second season

Wonder why showtime doesn't dump entire seasons at once? This show would be much more enjoyable binging IMO

I have a feeling this is going to be correct. Wait a year to find out what happened? No body has time for that shite.

I'm really curious to see what the trigger is for things to go South so quickly. It HAS to be them stumbling across the group/cult who has been making the tree carvings, right!?

Also, with how closely they're all guarding the secrets of what happened out there, I can't imagine what other sh*t took place besides cannibalism

Wild predictions

Jackie possibly faked death or group left her for dead. Only for Jackie to stay with the cult to become the new leader. Now she is trying to call the group back to the woods. Not a main character, but I could see the holy chick going against god and is one to accept the cult first.

I the the cannibal part will come in seasons 2. Shauna will find out she is pregnant. She will confess that the child is for Jackie’s boyfriend. This will start the group splitting process. Shauna will have the baby in the winter time.but the baby will die. With the group going crazy due to the low amount of food in the winter. Some of the group will eat the baby. Causing the rift between the group members.

Eventually they will be found, we find out some of the girls cannot deal with the world and go back to the cult in the woods where Jackie will lead them

I don’t know if it is a cult. But the plot synopsis says that it has cannibalistic clans. So maybe there’s a small clan/cult out there in the woods that shows them cannibalism.

I think a person was out there when they were at the lake making the signal. I don’t think that was something supernatural, maybe people worshiping something supernatural based on these carved images

Really? You don't think it was just the sun reflecting off the windows of the cabin?

But yeah, there's something else out there. I wonder if we'll find out the backstory of the dead person in the attic of the cabin.

Yeah, she isn't necessarily attractive in a classical way, but she puts off that sexual bad-girl energy that stirs something.

I know everyone reacts like situations differently. But can you see the lake from the cabin? If not then something else was trying to get your attention.

Another thought I’m having is that misty is very happy to be in the woods because she has the knowledge to survive and people will actually need her now. But it seems odd that she is happy and jolly in present time. Shouldn’t it be the opposite? She should be depressed that she is in the real world and people don’t need her anymore? Or could this be why she is a nurse at the old folks place, so she has the feeling that she is what is keeping these people alive.

Also Ever since I watched knives out I’m always looking for the iPhone clause. Antagonist or not allowed to use Apple products. So far everyone in the shell is using an Apple iPhone so I don’t think they are the antagonist. Unless they are just going off of the script that was given to them for season one. where you find out then later seasons that one of them is an antagonist. So apple doesn’t have the whole story

Just remember shauna was watching a game show and the answer was paradise lost.

From a short summary that I read, Paradise Lost is an epic poem by John Milton about the fall of Adam and Eve. Satan sets his sights upon the world of Man after being cast out of Heaven. ... God identifies Satan to the Son and explains that Satan will lead Man to Sin. The Son volunteers to sacrifice himself in return for God's divine grace for Man.

Sounds like this will be the true plot behind the madness they go though and what they have to do to get saved. Maybe they sacrifice Jackie to the devil or something so they can get rescued. That’s why shauna is seeing teenage versions of Jackie.

rewatched last episode with a friend last night.

Caught something on 2nd watch. The brief mention of mushrooms when they were scavenging. I think these kids stumble on some form of drugs out there that makes shite get weird. Theres got to be some form of catalyst, right?

So far you've just got typical teen angst spread throughout, and one sociopath who likes blood. They have plenty of water, shelter, and what appears to be easy hunting. One legged coach is going to get sick or eaten by wolves, hence the vision Kamala Harris has at the party with the white wolf?

It will eventually get cold, so maybe that's the breaking point?

Also, present day Shawna and young dude are SUCH a bad match. Theres no way he's not some type of creeper/stalker of these girls. Hes got to be 10 years younger than her, at least.

Could be some foreshadowing or something there, but I sort of lean towards it showing that she’s smart. She was supposed to go to Brown, after all. I think it’s clear they are painting her as bored, pretending to be meek while actually being aggressive (which she might have been doing all her life considering the banging her best friend’s boy), and longing for a youth she missed/wanted/avoided to be a “good girl.”

Quite possible, with Travis being the only truly attainable male in the woods (older, one-legged coach; young, barely-teened Javi), Shauna banged himself out there behind Natalie’s back.

Did anyone else pick up on the fact that the first two episodes didn’t have opening credits, but three and four have?

I find that the carving/symbol conveniently looks like a crudely depicted wasp.

On the topic of Dinosaur Jr., I’m pretty sure they’ve played “Feel the Pain” twice now.
