Money talks. Lawrence's career isn't doing so well right now. She needs a hit.
She literally was the top grossing actress in 2016 with 46 million

Hell yeah!! I love terrible movies!!!

That's what she got paid. Look at her movies. Passengers bombed. The last X-Men and Hunger Games movies were both disappointments. She's on a downward trajectory.

Your post said "money talks", clearly she doesn't need the money, she makes a lot of it
And if she needs a "win" being a supporting actress in a huge ensemble cast won't count as one.
She made a ton of good films early into her career and then used that momentum to cash into huge movie franchises and blockbuster films. She won't struggle to find roles after this whether it bombs or not

In the last two years she has been nominated again for best actress and become the highest paid actress in Hollywood.
Yep, downward

So the man responsible for the worst xmen movie is now in charge of fixing the franchise after the 2nd worst xmen movie?
Awesome

Didn't Days of Future Past basically reboot the whole X-universe to undo what this guy did in Last Stand? Dark Phoenix is one of my favorite comic storylines. What a let down this will be.

X-Men: The Last Stand screenwriter Simon Kinberg has been tapped to direct the upcoming X-Men: Dark Phoenix
Wait, so they're hiring the guy that butchered the Phoenix saga to direct the Phoenix saga? This should end well.

I'm more concerned about the writing. He's credited with writing the screenplay for Days of Future Past, and that worked out well. I'll wait and see who comes up with the actual story for this one.

At last X Men : The Dark Phoenix Saga
It should have been made already, I'll give the new person a shot directing wise because at least it's not Singer, and a new director can be refreshing change like Patty Jenkins was in WW. Questions off the top of my head are as follows ;
Who is playing Jean Grey?? The girl from GOT that played her in Apocalypse was rather plain, so I hope it's not her again.
And LiLandra isn't much of a villain, I'm old school and she was just the Shi'ar princess. Does she now have incredible powers now in the ever changing Marvel universe??

I've said it here before but I don't know if she can carry a movie like this

I'm gonna say it, I liked X3 better than 2. Two was constantly up it's own arse. It didn't even try to be anything but a wolverine flick where at least X1 took the piss out of everything is about Logan.
Singer just made it and peaced to Returns. Where he still treated cyclops like shite.
X3 was a mess but at least it was X-Men. And it gave us the Juggernaut, bitch!

I mean she's the most laid back. The rulership is between whoever fights hardest between her and deathbird until Vulcan comes into play.
They really need to get that story out there. Team up with marvel studios for War of Kings
