Has there been a superhero movie villain who's done more damage than Apocalypse?
Magneto seemed to be doing the heavy lifting there, now granted it was due to Apocalypse enhancing his powers. So sure I guess by proxy, we can credit him with that damage.

I enjoyed the hell out of this movie. Definitely better than AoU. I do have a few complaints.
1)I've had enough of this mystique, more specifically Jlaw.
2) The acting wasn't too good, Jean and Scott's character had me cringing.
3) Apocalypse chose some shite horsemen outside of Magneto. Storm is still a child basically, and the others were useless.
4)Apocalypse could've just destroyed the opposition (or at least most of) before he decided to do the transference, it would've made things a lot easier.
I had no problem with Phoenix, since she doesn't know how to control her powers yet I'm sure it was a rare phenomenon and she can't just tap into that power at will.
Did anyone know what Apocalypse meant when he said "All is revealed"?

Apocalypse and Magneto are probably the strongest villains we've encountered in the marvel universe on the big screen so far, the damage is warranted.

meant to ask about that as well.

I didn't mind Jean, but not sure about the guy playing Scott long term because I don't see him as any sort of leader. I wouldn't mind them recasting when the story jumps forward, but they probably won't since no one apparently ages in this timeline.

Ozymandias
I meant more physical damage. Ozy removed Doc Manhattan from mankind's growth, but Apocalypse actually ripped up the planet itself.
Ozymandias is one of the few villains to actually win in the end.

My take was that" the Phoenix" would be the one to truly remake the world. Definitely a loose cannon in the comics.

The first three X-films are no longer valid, nor is either Wolverine film.
I'm almost to the point of thinking that none of them are valid. I read the X-titles growing up for years, and it pains me to see how bad Fox has handled all of them.
They even found a way to screw up Deadpool. Would it have been that hard to have him be part of Weapon X instead of some black market mutant farm?

To be fair, DoFP really reset the world, they couldn't connect him to the Weapon X program as it was. I'm not too terribly concerned that they disconnected him, however.....
The rumors of the X-Force film bring up both X-23 and Fantomex, who need the program to exist. I think Essex Corps might be a way to tie it all together under Sinister, which isn't necessarily a bad idea at all.

But the Weapon X program still exists (hence the tubes and headgear Logan was wearing). Deadpool could have easily been part of that.
I want to like the X-films, but Fox's complete disregard for the comics makes it really tough.
I never read Avengers, Iron Man, or any of the MCU, and I'm liking their films so much more. I loved the Infinity Gauntlet, though, so here's hoping they don't butcher it. I can handle Vision with an Infinity Gem for now. I just hope they actually do something with the Thanos Quest leading up to the Gauntlet.

If this was 20 years after First Class why didn't any of those people look older?

Correct. But it seems they dismantled it earlier in the process, and it might have been different.
Like I said, perhaps they are using the Essex Corps to do that, and if you know anything about that, it's not a bad play to make Sinister an even bigger character and threat. Think if he takes the current Weapon X stuff - as shown by the teaser - creates X-23 by trying to clone Wolverine. Refines his process and spins off creating Fantomex and Deadpool, etc.
The Weapon X Program, Essex, John Sublime and the U-Men - they can all be related or tied together in one thing which could drive the X-Universe for a few films.

I agree and disagree. They've made some poor choices (the lack of focus on Cyclops) and some good ones. We can't always stay too connected to the comics as film is a different medium, with different goals, and different ways to get there.

I must say i genuinely enjoy coming to this board and reading threads like this. Always nice to see a movie and form your own theories, and then read others. I get bummed out sometimes when i read the last post. Haha.
Enjoyed this movie very much. Agree that I didnt think Jean and Scott's performances were very good, but they were tolerable. Isaac did a nice job and Fassbender and McEvoy were brilliant as always.
The "it is revealed" line was cool. I took it to mean the power of Phoenix unleashed that would eventually lead to chaos for the X Men. Like the way they've tied things together.
Not as amazing as DoFP but I thought it was pretty close to First Class.

I'd actually rather Daken, Wolverine's son, but X-23 has come around.

Just re-cast wolverine, but with this new timeline they've kinda screwed themselves including him even though they knew he was on borrowed time.

They will, Jackman only has 1 film left and it should be a good one. An R rated old man Logan should be an awesome film.
I think Tom Hardy would make a great Wolverine.

Did you see the film yet?
Posted on 6/1/16 at 1:22 am to Sentrius
I saw it tonight.
I enjoyed it. I didn't think it was as good as Days of Future Past but it was close.
Michael Fassbender was terrific as Magneto, particularly the part set in Poland.
The girl cast as Storm did a very good job. Even though Olivia Munn hardly says anything, I enjoyed looking at her.
The Quicksilver scene was very good. Very well done.
The one thing I would agree with others on is that it always seems to come back to Charles and Erik having the same discussion. While I don't grow weary of it, I do notice that it seems to always show up. And maybe that sets up something in the following movies.
Looking forward to the next one!
On a side note, I noticed that the teacher at the very beginning, when Scott says his eyes are bothering him, is Ally Sheedy (The Breakfast Club, Short Circuit, WarGames)
