This is a continuation of the old series, right? I might start a rewatch from the beginning first

Is this the one where they drew all the women with no asses despite in the original they all had asses?

Watched a few minutes. The animation is a little choppy, but prob on purpose. When they talk all their bottom teeth show and it's distracting. Just nitpickin' . The voices are decent. Rogue and Gambit are the hardest to get right.

Gambit

In the kitchen scene of the first episode he looked a little different, but after that not so much. I haven’t watched episode 2 yet, so maybe I’m just nitpicking.

Rogue's voice is a little too high-pitched and every one of her lines is some sort of really bad country saying. They should pull back a bit on that last part, a little bit for flavor is good but too much and it spoils the whole thing.

I loved the way the got creative with Scott's use of his powers. Using them to move himself (or slow himself down) was something I hadn't seen before.

They've added Bishop and Morph to the permanent roster, apparently.

They tinkered with the theme a little, but not badly.

Overall, it had the definite look and feel of the original and I'm looking forward to their version of what looks to be the Madelyn Pryor story.

Not a bad first episode.

I do hope Scott becomes less cringey. The “come to me, my X-Men” line was just as awful as it was in the teaser.

Bishop ain’t the same without the mullet

Magneto fans rejoice… episode 2 is good stuff from the best villain in comics.

Why did they make Gambit and Magneto so effeminate?

Most mutants are metro sexual in the comics now. It a thing. In fact according to the powers that be in charge of both marvel and dc comics. Only a truly famboylant person would dress up in costume to do good. So yes, it is a rarity that you see someone that is straight masculine or feminine as a superhero.

Oh… I thought 97 meant 1997. Not modern comics.

Magneto is dressed up like Bruce Jenner playing Magneto.

Gambit is dressed up like Vicki from The Waterboy.

They seem to be going through the mid-late 80s storylines, Magneto was wearing that costume back then.

I didn't care for it back then and I still don't care for it now, but the look is a visual representation of his attempt to change from being a villain to a hero.

I could say more, but that may be a spoiler.

Really good. Solid storytelling. Perfectly nostalgic but also improving the narrative quality.
