My youngest son is deep into the Old Republic with books and the video game. All I know is Revan, and I can't wrap my head around how much longer ago it is than the Empire era.

He'll be stoked.

I see what you did there.

I think after casting Bastila, the biggest question is who plays Revan? Ron Perlman is perfect for Canderous Ordo. Jennifer Lawrence as Mission Vao. Some big tall guy for Zaalbar. Kate Beckinsale as Bastila Shan. Laurence Fishburn as Jolee Bindo. Michiel Huisman as Carth Onasi. Zoe Saldana as Juhani. HK47 could go a lot of different ways. Just off the top of my had of voice actor that could pull off that sass, David Spade, Patrick Warburton, Zach Galifianakis, or James Spader.

In theory, I’d love to see a movie in that setting. In reality, we’d just find out how bigoted the Old Republic was.

No.

I think they would take a great story. Inject their politics throughout and destroy it. I have zero confidence in their ability to make a movie without filling it with SJW bullshite.

I would still go to KOTOR hoping for a good movie but wouldn't be shocked if they wrecked the plot.

I don't know how I feel about any Star Wars project at this point. TLJ was so awful that I'm going to have to see a few good Star Wars movies produced before my faith is restored.

I hope it is an KOTOR era story but not KOTOR. A remake of the KOTOR storyline will be disappointing to anyone who played the game.

Casting:

Bastila - Kate Beckinsale
Jolee Bindo - Idris Elba
Canderous Ordo - Nathan Fillion(?)
Carth Onassi - Patrick Dempsey
Mission Vao - Zendaya

WTAF?

Spade isn't a voice actor. IDGAF how many times you might've fapped to Emperor's New Groove. GTFOH with that nonsense.

HK47 needs to be someone like Alan Tudyk AT BEST, if you're going for a screen actor. A real working VO like Steve Blum would be infinitely better than anyone with name recognition.

All that said, I'd sooner get a KOTOR-era film rather than a retelling of the main KOTOR plot. That would be hard to nail down, anyway since it was a glorified Choose Your Own Adventure.

Eh, different writers/directors and it’s also not part of the main storyline. It deserves to be judged on its own merits.

As long as Kathleen shite Kennedy is in charge of the franchise I will not give any of their movies a free pass. It will take a complete turn around for me. Get SJW shite out of Star Wars please.

Yes, if they could somehow cut dow on time while still maintaining the joy it brought? So much of the love the game came from exploration of the universe outside of the main storyline.

Kate Beckinsale
a little old for the part, I think

Probably better to cast younger.

I have thought on this, extensively.

I would like to see one of the following as Bastila, any of whom could crush the role:

Jena Malone

Nathalie Emmanuel

Yvonne Strahovski

I could also see Emily Blunt or Chloe Grace Moretz pulling it off.

Alan Rickman could have killed as the voice. He could carry humor and sinister in the same breath
