Thought it was outstanding. Theater was very dusty. Bad contact lens day, for sure.

The horrifying thing is that there's an entire generation now who hasn't had Fred Rogers as an integral part of their early development. No wonder the new kids are so fricked up.

Bump because I just saw this documentary, and more people should watch it. Didn’t know much about Fred Rogers, but the man is truly an inspiration.

Yeah it was fantastic, and it's mind-boggling why Won't You Be My Neighbor and Three Identical Strangers were not nominated for the Academy Award for Documentary Feature.

I can't wait for biopic where Tom Hanks is playing him. That should be very good.

Found this clip after watching the documentary. Was curious what happened to the little boy Jeff (the one in the wheelchair that Mr. Rogers sang "I Like You" with).

He lived until 2007 it turns out. And completely surprised Mr Rogers in 1999 when he was inducted into TV Hall of Fame.

Watch Mr Rogers face in the video as he realizes who it is

Awesome documentary.

The dusty theater part for me was when Fred Rogers was giving his testimony before the Senate committee to shut down PBS. For three days the leading Senator heard testimony after testimony and still was not swayed and was going to defund PBS, here comes the last person to speak Mr. Rogers and he gives his talk . And the senator, who has not been swayed in three days , upon hearing the last talk takes his glasses off , looks at Mr. Rogers and tells him “well it looks like you just earned your $20 million”. How unbelievable. It’s small miracles like this that build my faith.

Yeah. I found myself thinking, “I wish I had someone that nice in my life”. Then you remember that he was/is a part of your life just from watching that.

It’s amazing how it can make you cry, but not because it’s sad, just because it’s so beutiful.

Watched it this weekend. Of course we were moved to tears, the man was a saint (flaws and all).

But after seeing all of the crap today about Peter Farrelly and how his flashing antics on and off set should have kept him from Oscar consideration... Why haven't the nutjobs gone after Fred Rogers for giving a poster of a man's arse as a joke gift? Or his crew, which was famous for the nude guy in the sweater closet joke? Just a matter of time.

I love that Fred just rushes on stage once he realizes who it is....doesn’t even wait until the introduction is over.

To be fair, the guy he gave the picture to took a picture of his own backside with Rogers' camera as a joke to see what Fred would do. Fred gave the guy that picture as a joke.

Just a beautiful movie. I loved everything about it, and it reminded me how much I miss Fred Rogers. He was one of the best parts of childhood.

Recently watched on HBO and was really surprised by the fact that he came off as really insecure and I'd never really thought about the insecurities of the puppets being part of his personality. He always just came off as a genuine, nice guy. I would have never guessed he felt all of that stuff underneath the surface. We need more Fred Rogers' in the world today.

What I liked best was that he was an ordained minister but never pushed his religious beliefs on anyone. It was always just treat others how you want to be treated and that's the message everyone needs still today.

This thing was so good. I grew up with Mr. Rogers and found myself getting misty at the happy stuff as much as the sad parts.

And he knocked it over the fence in the first minute of the doc with his “modulation” analogy. Which was also a little funny since so much of what he said was meant to be understood by everyone, and someone without any musical training might not grasp the great accuracy of it (which he instantly recognized and laughed at himself over).

What he did should be at the center of what all Christians do: Love your neighbor. He absolutely modeled it without having to tell anyone what he was doing. The proof of the greatest commandment (Love God) is displayed by how fully and genuinely one follows the second commandment. You could SEE that he loved his neighbor. Being someone's neighbor was at the very heart of his program and his life. What an amazingly beautiful thing.

Wife and I bawled our eyes out watching this over the weekend. Kids thought we were crazy, but they didn't grow up watching his show every morning like we did so they didn't have that connection. What a jewel of human being he was.
