Austria (and more importantly Germany) wanted a freaking war and were just looking for an excuse.

Germany, yes, but Austria tried from basically the moment the Archduke was assasinated to stop the war. Hell, if Wilson doesn't convince the Brits differently, the war ends in 1916 thanks to the efforts of Otto von Habsburg.

Uh you know that Wonder Woman has superpowers right? Superpowers that enable her to lift things that weigh in the tons?

I comic book enough to know that Superman and Batman were not in WWI. I was sorta being flippant.

I comic book enough to have picked with my own hand the Spiderman comic off the shelf in 1970 where Gwen Stacy was killed.

Stan Lee wrote editorials and humor back in the day in the mag's that were awesome.

Repzion, a guy who loathes everything DCEU and truly does not give a single frick about the ratings, just raved about the movie.

Ok, I'm there with eager anticipation. I trust his taste in film wholeheartedly, so I'm eagerly anticipating seeing this: LINK

I greatly respect OML's opinions on the DC cinematic universe and generally agree.

I want WW to do well, because I like a lot of comic stories and really just want good stories to be told -- but so far DC have spectacularly failed (imo).

For me, WW is their last chance. I'm going in with low expectations, and hope that it's better.

If it sucks, I'm not sure that I have any interest in seeing either Aquaman or JLA. (From what little I've seen I don't like their flash as yet, and how can they not even have a decent GL reference yet?)

Thank you. I do look back on initially seeing Man of Steel for all of its flaws. I stand by just about every statement I made on this thread even today: LINK

it's not like any other DC movie, none of the bullshite that you've seen from bvs or suicide squad. Chris Pine also turned in a pretty good performance as well.

but damn Gadot is freaking stunning.
