yeah, I'm glad they got it right as well

I think most on this board will like/love this movie.

others will accuse it of 'SJW' themes, you can already see it coming.

Well, she was created as a SJW 76 years ago.

It's like that recent Green Arrow book where people were getting on him for being a SJW, and he had to remind them that he was fighting for social justice before the people who coined the phrase were born.

Uh, negative.

That is why I said I enjoyed the animated Wonder Woman movie. I will see this Gal Godot version tonight, and we'll see if it is any good.

Or as a tribute to bondage submissives.

Originally WW lost all her powers if she was bound. It was her kryptonite.

Of course there will be SJW themes. Clearly that is expected in a movie with a female action lead. It's just the world we live in. So if you can't blow that shite off, you should probably steer clear.

That said, I said after the BvS fiasco that I would go into this movie with an open mind. It looks like it will be rewarded. The trailers have been both stunning and exciting. I wasn't thrilled that they chose a bean pole to play WW, but I am open minded about that, too.

As an aside, I do like having strong female leads in movies like this. . .because I have a 10 year old daughter who should know that women can be more than Disney Princesses or Super Butch angry feminists. There is a middle ground.

How interesting would it be if it is WW and Aquaman that save the DC Cinematic Unverse?

Going to? He hasn't stopped for days.

I'm happy for these guys, though, they deserve a good movie about the characters they are fans of. I was genuinely concerned for their safety if this one didn't pan out

They have the benefit of being "new" to today's audience. The Catwomans and Elektras aside, we haven't had a big, traditional superheroine movie since Supergirl. And certainly nothing since Nolan and Marvel amped up the superhero movie genre. When they placed Wonder Woman taking point before Superman and Batman in BvS, they were telling people that she's as important as the two longest running superhero franchises on screen. So she's brand new to film and the studio is telling everyone that she's a big fricking deal.

And Aquaman is in totally new superhero territory. We've had superhero movies take place on earth, in space, in heaven, and in hell, but under the sea is about as ambitious as you can get.

It doesn't hurt that every woman wants to be Gal Gadot and every man wants to do her. And every guy wants to be Khal Drogo and every woman wants to hook up with him and birth the Stallion Who Mounts the World.

Which is just stupid. Wonder Woman was around long before SJWs were. I guess if you go in looking for something to be offended by, you can find it. People are dumb

Looking forward to seeing this.

Saw it in London this afternoon.

Easily the best of the DC attempts at movies.

Hopefully DC has finally righted the ship with this movie.

Perfect blend of action and story.

It helped that Wonder Woman's first action in costume was to blast Doomsday backwards 100 feet.

I haven't been able to muster any enthusiasm at all. What on this blue/green orb possessed them to place the story during WORLD WAR ONE!?

We already had a superhero get an origin movie set in WWII. If Wonder Woman does the same, then everyone says she's stealing from Captain America.

That said, WWI does what a lot of other people have stated:
1.) Has Pine's character die of old age well before Justice League
2.) Demonstrates that WW is either immortal or insanely long-lived
3.) Uses a unique setting, especially when compared to other conflicts (like WWII, Vietnam, etc)

Not to mention that WWI has a lot more interest these days thanks to the release of Battlefield 1. It was a smart move by DC.

Why the downvotes?

It is a fact that the original WW lost her powers if she was bound by a man
