I'm sad that you actually paid to see this absolutely shitty movie. Wiigs character looks straight out of that Cats movie. I half expected her to burst into song, which probably would have made more sense for her.

I noticed subtle and blatant sjw shite all throughout the movie.
Did you think "She's All That" and the first WW were SJW?
Because this movie was an amalgamation of those 2 films, thematically speaking.
The male villain is redeemed, due to the love of his son. . .the female villain is not redeemed, because she is super insecure. WW moment of clarity is that she needs to start dating.
Doesn't sound very SJW.
The anti-woke crowd is as exhausting and nauseating as the woke crowd. Just be, dammit. Stop being offended by everything. You guys are predictable caricatures, at this point.

It definitely isn't balls deep SJW but there obviously was an attempt at some messages that reflect that. It makes them an easy target to say they were more worried about that than making a cohesive movie. The entire movie was 2 hours of suppressed rage and logical inconsisistencies. The director and writers are probably the kind of people who do not see the difference between Sci Fi and Harry Potter. Suspension of belief only works if it is consistenly applied, otherwise it is just fiction.
I'm happy that young girls have something to watch and that they get their representation. I just wish their representation wsa as well thought out as Iron Man instead of a long, drawn out, story that doesn't make any sense and spends too much time talking about feelings and letting you know they are in the 80s.
The villain was ridiculous. All he had to do was get someone to wish Wonder Woman dead. He is running around trading wishes for worldly possessions when he could have told someone to wish him a personal Death Star with a full complement of Storm Troopers. Then turned around and had the next guy wish him immortal with the powers of Dr. Manhattan. Instead, he just wanted to make the planet completely fricking uncoverable by giving every chuckle frick a wish. This somehow was a completely better plan. He would have been better off sitting down for 5 minutes, writing down a plan to be ruler of the known universe, and then paying teenagers 20 bucks to read scripts out loud while shaking hands. BTW, this guy wrecked shite worldwide, hugged his son, and faced zero consequences.

No, we got a Hallmark movie with super powers and Christopher Pine as Ghost Patrick Swayze

Can anyone give examples of the SJW messaging other than a vague sense of oppression and one of the villains being male?

5) Minerva isn't Cheetah anymore, but what about "like Diana"? Did she renounce both? Either? Did Lord renouncing his wish simply negate every wish he granted, but the rest are in play?
I was wondering the same. Did she renounce both wishes or just the Cheetah wish? or since Lord renounced his wish, did all other wishes get renounced also? Seems like her "like Diana" wish would still remain in effect even if Lord's wish was renounced.
I'll admit, I am a Wiig fan. I think she looked good in this movie. Also, kind of liked the Cheetah look.

One thing not mentioned in this thread is that they gave about 20 seconds introduction to the invisibility power, no build up, just 2 sentences about her dad and a missing coffee cup. Then a whole jet disappeared. Felt forced to me, especially when the very next scene is an overly long sappy fireworks scene that was unnecessary. Steve had seen fireworks before, dumb.
Yeah, this whole scene felt like it was written by a 8 year old.
"Okay, so we need to make sure we show she has an invisible jet.. How do we write this in?"
"Ah, we'll throw them in a plane that he can fly then we'll say something about radar."
"How do we explain radar to someone from 1920?"
"Nah, we'll just have her say that it takes too long to explain."
"Okay, then she will rub her hands together and POOF, invisible jet. Problem solved!"

Just as annoying is the “mommy and daddy please stop fighting” crowd.

Wife and I tried watching this. Got maybe half-hour in. It was so bad, wife suggested we fool around and go to sleep.
So, 10/10

The explanation behind the invisible jet is solid. "If we can make an entire island invisible to the world, why not a jet?"
But the reason for them to need a jet and their method of obtaining it were both hamfisted attempts at storytelling.

I didn't read the whole thread, but I didn't like this movie at all. This set the WW franchise back. There was nothing likeable about any of the characters. They forced Steve back into it because of a wish. Pascal's character was so clunky and overacted. The wish story line was stupid. Not to mention all of the wasted time. This movie could have been much less than 2 hours long.

Oddly enough, Captain Marvel did the “superhero in a different period” shtick better.
WW84 completely wasted the 80s. As much credit (and leverage) as Patty Jenkins got for WW, she should get criticism for this. The story and the direction were just so far off. The only thing I particularly enjoyed (and this is becoming a theme with a lot of DC films) is Han Zimmer.

It's been two days since we watched it and I still can't believe how horrible this movie was.
It was originally set to release in May so they had 7 months to watch this thing and not a single person thought it was shite?
How does that happen?

in regard to the jet....
what kind of jet was that? from the exterior, it looked like a normal fighter jet. yet, the pilot and copilot seats were side by side. Also, does a jet that size hold enough fuel to fly from DC to Cairo? Serious question. i don't know.

I thought the same things
I love the super hero movies so some plot holes/questions don't bother me... but there were so many little things like this that took it over the top.
Again, Gadot is THAT gorgeous that I made it all the way through but that's the only reason.

There are jets that have seating like that..some are called fighter-bombers but I dont know exactly what this one was.
And no, this jet could not fly from DC to Cairo unless it gets refueled in-air from a tanker.

Didn’t like it all..and neither did the wife. The storyline with wishes was ridiculous and there were too many things that were just stupid. Also, there really wasn’t a final battle and the whole golden armor - that turned out useless - was out of left field. Cheetah appeared at the very end for one brief, bad CGI fight.
And a WW1 by-plane pilot being able to jump in, start and fly internationally on a modern jet?
I know it’s a comic book movie but even in that realm it was just bad.

Stopped watching as soon as I saw the Operation Wolf arcade machine....not in 1984, nope, I'm out.
Rampage is being played in the background, too. It came out in '86.
