You're right, we must not have watched the same movie. There was nothing feminist, no plot holes, no repressed rage, etc. It was just a cohesive movie that totally made sense, right?

That's a start. Let's see how low it can go.

I had read that there was a lot of Trump-esque bashing in here and some woke stuff so i looked for it. I didn't find anything glaringly bad, sure there was something here or there but nothing out of the norm. Like the attempted rapist on Barbara, never seen anyone do that much less twice to the same woman. Seemed like it was there as a "men bad" thing but nothing heinously egregious.

I actually agree with Fewer that this was just a mediocre movie. I would give it a 6/10 probably. It had enough mindless fun, hot female lead and decent enough chemistry between stars to get it there. There was enough bad that had it not been for Gadot as the lead, it would have been a 4 or 5 at best.

Should be around 4.6 range, based on a 10 scale. Not super, just below average.

It so very rare that any movie kills the hero that I have no idea why people get bothered about it when it comes to comic movies.

I guess there's a difference between what's likely, and what's completely set in stone.

And really, if you're going to give us an ongoing character, then just go ahead and give us the latest adventure. Keep things building and going forward.
This does nothing to advance the storyline.

I just watched it. Very diverse movie, very moving. I was in tears at the end. I gripped my Starbucks coffee, cried into my turtleneck and was so emotional I had to use my soothing rocks and scents to help align me.

Some of y’all are overthinking this movie. It’s just bad and makes no sense. Really bad.

No, shithead. How many times do I have to agree that the movie is bad? There are tons of holes. The 80s pastiche doesn't match the tone of the performances. It's an hour too long. There's a lack of exposition to make it clear exactly what's happening, but any exposition would have made it more clear just how stupid the maguffin actually was. Wiig's villain is underdeveloped, and her cheetah cgi is a disaster. Lord's logic is murky at best, and it's never totally clear what his powers really are. The Steve part of this is underexplored but totally predictable from minute 1 (which wasn't until minute 46!). Ending the movie with 20 minutes of underlit action climax is the same stupid decision too many dceu movies keep making. Also, action - where the hell was it? I just think this movie is bad for reasons that are actually in the movie.

But, again, the repressed rage comes mainly from a nonwhite person. Wiig's isn't repressed, it's not really rage anyway, and her character is a stock 80s nerd stereotype who doesn't think confidence is a possibility until she wishes to be Diana. This is straight out of an 80s movie. Female power has been baked into wonder woman since 1942. Not sure what your were expecting when going to see a movie about a female superhero,as very few female superheroes aren't powerful... That said, there's no "feminism" on display when one woman turns into a literal monster to warn away from bettering herself, and the other woman gives an entire monologue on the power of love and truth, the effect of which is keeping everybody from changing the status quo of society. Because changing the status quo equals chaos. What exactly was feminist?

I keep providing examples of why the movie isn't what you say it is, even if it is bad. You keep saying nothing. Want to stop sounding retarded, and actually explain what you're talking about? Not positive the latter would bring about the former, but you could at least try.

At least we can finally get over the bullshite about Max Lord being a Trump avatar in this film. He couldn't have been further from Trump (present day or 80's).

If anything he was a goofy Christopher Reeve villain, closer to Luthor or the Luthor knockoff they used in III.

You God damned anti-Trump cocksuckers pollute everything everywhere with your horse shite.

I actually think this movie was reverse feminist or reverse pro female.

It was like if James Cameron or Spielberg etc made this..it would be trashed by women more than it is now.

-the female villain is the stupid dorky girl who wants good male attention so bad, she will let the world burn to keep it.

-the female hero is depressed over a guy from 60 years ago so much she hasnt dated since then lol. Literally sits at restaurants alone, only knew the guy a month.

She cant do anything without him..couldve learned to fly a plane herself but no..has to let a man from 1918 fly a jet that didnt exist in 1918. Needs him to help her fight regular soldiers when in other films she demolished soldiers and monsters.

I could go on...everything in this Wonder Woman revolves around men and a woman wrote and directed it smdh

This seemed like a Michael Bay film with Megan Fox as WW

The kind needed for the movie so the story could be told.

Funny. Stuff like this in a big budget move. Flat out Sharknado level garbage.

This movie reminded me of The Riddler’s dastardly plan in Batman Forever

It's funny, they tried so hard to placate every single group and ideology and by doing so went so far left that they circled back around to cultural insensitivity in just about every way possible.

Maybe I’m wrong but I didn’t get a SJW vibe from the movie at all, just a badly written mess with crap CGI and good actors wasted.

this movie was just bad. and nearly 3 hrs long! Best part of the whole thing was the nod to the original WW at the end.

although i found Wiig kind of sexy as a cheetah.

Also, first time in a movie theater since the lockdowns started.

The Karens were on the prowl. We bought 5 seats together as a family. Karen, sitting alone a few rows up with her mask on had the usher come and ask for our tix and want to know why we had 5 people sitting so close together.

I get it. I think she's attractive, with a nice body. But up against a Gal Gadot, Kristen Wiig will always look 'average', at best.

Some criticize the cat costume. Not sure how they were supposed to pull that off w/ out being compared to the movie version of CATS.
