I'm assuming everyone's caught up with Ep5 but I'll avoid spoilers and leaks.

We all have beloved shows (me I'm a Star Trek guy) that we can watch over and over.

Knowing what you know now, how many people will want to rewatch GOT knowing how things are playing out?

For me I'm not certain. I'm getting that Star Wars: The Last Jedi feel but I'm hoping that will change.

Hopefully some of the Ep6 leaks that are out there are not true and we will have a finale that we can all live will.

HBO needs for people to be satisfied enough with the finale to keep buying the product for years to come and be willing to watch the spinoffs they are working on.

It will be interesting to see how this show is thought of in the years to come.

My wife and I started on season 1 this week. 6 episodes in. Amazing how tense so many of the scenes were.

I know I will.

I think everyone will appreciate it more as time passes.

It has good rewatchability but there's no doubt that D&D have hurt the legacy of this show forever by not following through with it. What a waste.

That's the sentiment I was trying to get across. For me, I really can just watch the first 7 seasons and maybe the first 3 Eps of S8 and I'm fine

Of course they will.

But I mean, discussion of this show will be next to nothing within 6 months.

My guess is people will watch until the Season 6 finale and then just pretend that basically anything else happened from that point forward.

LOST, so good til the end, but the end made it unrewatchable for most.

My GF had never seen GOT and she's been trying to catch up to watch the finale together. She's loved the show, but now in season 7, she's starting to question things ..."why would they do that, where did they get that, that's stupid"

They could’ve outsourced writing the scripts to internet message boards & ended up with a more coherent storyline.

we are in the middle of a rewatch that we had hoped to finish before Season 8 started but got delayed big time.

We are about halfway through Season 5 and I find it to be better this time around. It's certainly in the bottom tier of seasons, but when they first aired I thought the episodes were bad.

It's also amusing to me that I watched an episode this past Monday that had a conversation between Barristan and Dany that was directly related to what happened in Episode 5.

With that said, I haven't gotten to the Sand Snake fiasco yet, and I am sure my opinion on them will not change, but otherwise the season has been just fine.

Do people still watch the Star Wars OT even after the release of the prequels and sequels?

Yes, no question.

Regardless what your views are on the ending, it doesn’t change the years of fantastic build up and that GoT is one of the best shows of all time. The other seasons are not just erased.

My jr. high school friends and I could have written a much better conclusion. I'm not even joking. I'm 100% certain we could have.

But yeah, it's not a high bar.
