It made only 3.9 million on Thanksgiving Day. IT looks like it will come in third behind Hunger Games and Napoleon.

Unless it has insane legs over the coming weeks, mark this one down as yet another Disney failure.

Just watched it with my daughters.

I thought it was really good actually. A true bad villain. A lot of Disney Easter eggs

If others feel the same, word of mouth may help

No idea.

Things don't bode well for it as it stands.

I kind of understand the "antagonist needs to be white" and quite frankly, I don't care. I have a bigger issue when the white males who aren't antagonists are seen as inept morons at BEST and complete jackasses as well.

It's basically the formula of "straight white male must be either evil or inept" that's hurting them. I mean, no one I knew had a problem with Gaston being white. There were other white men that were kind, and/or heroic to balance it.

But when your writing is so one dimensional that the only way you know how to depict a strong female is to have her next to weak men, then that tells me you (as in the writers) are not very creative.

Just look at Aliens. No one thought, "Man, Ripley is going to look weak unless we make Corporal Hicks a complete bitch" or "Oh man, thank goodness they made the T-800 fall apart and become the first robot to shite its pants, otherwise I'd never known Sarah Connor was a complete badass."

BoxOfficeMojo lists its domestic tally from Wednesday at 8.3 million. I can see some articles that give a number of 3.9 million for Thanksgiving Day, but I don't know where they're getting it from.

The $8.3 million is for Wednesday and Tuesday sneak previews. The $3.9 million is for Thursday. $12.2 total domestic so far.

They were originally projected for $66 million for the 5 day frame. Now it is looking more like $35 million for the whole 5 (really 6) days.

An awful result. Disney has major problems right now.

Translates to about a $35 million 5-day holiday weekend opening, which is downright abysmal.

Yet another massive box office bomb from Disney.

Just got out of the movie. God was it bad. The animation style just looked dull and uninspired. The songs were both terrible and forgettable. As were the characters. The plot was just whatever.

I want to go watch Moana again to wipe this from my mind.

It just doesn’t look good. Marketing hasn’t helped. First trailer made the villain look like the good guy and you can see that in the comments. Disney has completely lost it.

My 8 yr old daughter loved it but it’s not one of those animated movies that are also entertaining for adults

Disney has no moral principles and they should not be in the business of writing children's movies.

Of course you loved it for your daughter's. Your daughters will be the next generation of anti-traditional western women. They've been baked in western culture and Disney is spoonfeeding little girls the poison pill of anti-male female existence.

My g/f and kids just walked out of the movie. She said there were 7 families watching the show. 2 of the families walked out before them. She said the songs were not fun or catchy.

I am glad that it explain the Cinderella plot hole on why she loses her illusion after midnight. Its cause the Fairy godmother turn black after midnight also. So no more magic to power Cinderella.

This movie will bomb like all the rest. In Hollywood they now only employ gays and women and think only they can be creative. Eventually sound business lenders will stop lending money to make this crap

Went with the kids yesterday. The story line was weak and there were a couple catchy songs, but nothing memorable. The most entertaining part was all the Easter eggs and homages to old Disney movies.

In the end, the kids were entertained, but won’t watch this on repeat or listen to the songs like they did with Frozen, Moana, Coco, Encanto, etc.

Yep. Apparently, there is a scene where Magnifico explains that if everyone in the country got everything they wished for, it would result in chaos.

Hilariously part of the plot of Bruce Almighty. And that is actually pretty true
