Off the island is definitely now. Once you’re on the island it could be anytime. And people that were born there die if they leave? I think something is up with time.

I don't get the impression there's anything weird going on with the passage of time. I think the Island/Town is just cursed, but like they said in the first episode, it's not a constant haunt..the island "wakes up" sometimes and goes dormant for others.
The intriguing part is what happened that makes it impossible for people born on the island to survive on the mainland? There must have been a catalyst for all the cursed activity and I'm betting it was brought about by the town's first mayor.

This last episode was very odd. Had me guessing what was real and what wasn’t the entire time. Like someone earlier mentioned it reminded me of Twilight Zone. Have they ever mentioned if the person that killed the High School girls was caught? Also were those birds cut up on the counter by the punch. I might need someone to explain what the hell happened in this episode to me

I don't remember what it was but something in the first episode gave me that feeling. Maybe I'll go back and watch it again and see if I can figure it out.

I don’t think time is weird in this one. The people of the island know what cell phones are, they mentioned them I think twice in the first episodes, they just don’t have cell service on the island.

A spell book written by Satan, or Lou Cypher, disguised itself and used poor Patricia's insecurities to get her to gather people and put a spell on them, I guess to drown themselves? I don't quite know the purpose of the entire thing.
