Refresh my memory on this. When the boogeyman came and killed the highschool girls, what did Patricia do?

So is he going to kill Ruth?
As far as nominating actors, Patricia should definitely be nominated. She has played a more complicated character than Wyck or the Mayor.

So what is the theory on the chair in cellar with blood leading to the hatch?

Was Warren making sacrifices to the island down there?
Nobody knows about that cellar do they?

So I'm guessing the blood covenant might be broken, but the island will then demand sacrifices.

so in episode 1 it looks like an electric chair, no hook up but there are straps and stuff

and then in the flashback 1700s episode it’s a simple chair.

that is also where Reverend Bryce went before he hung himself, so it’s gonna be something big and like something involving sacrifices.

Wait the Reverend went to the cellar where the chair was?
I didn't see this. I remember him wondering in the woods and reading letters in his study.

So he is wandering out in the woods before he hands himself and goes into the well Sarah Warren popped out off after seeing the chair. I am making the assumption he saw what was in the cellar.

I think whatever “entity” Warren made the deal with lives in that cellar. When Warren killed then man with the cane, we could see blood streaks from the chair to the door, so it seems he fed the body to the entity.

Also, they released Patricia’s playlist for Apple Music. There is a reply under the post for the Spotify version.

She hid under her bed. I confused myself with what she confessed to the MEAN ladies. She lied about getting phone calls but she did hide from him.

Ruth is spritely. Most obvious twist ever.

Just watched the finale.

Holy shite, this show is incredible.

Every single thing that happened in Ruth’s house was awesome. From her on the treadmill (I did two miles! ). To the full calendar. To the car picture on the wall (I got it at a garage sale…boys love their cars ). To the tea conversation. To her helping other old people bc shes in such good shape. Him thinking she was dead. Etc.

I lost my shite at the car picture. And her running up the stairs.

Bechir shooting Ruth caught me WAY off guard. And the dude dying in the chamber kinda got me as well.

So I assume the cellar doors in that chamber are basically the island’s “mouth” where it consumes people sacrificed to sustain it (or whatever)?

So the bell tolled 8 times. That means the island needs 8 bodies, right?

This show is an absolute masterclass on how to interweave hilarity and horror. It does both so well and they are seamless.

I will watch episodes as long as they crank them out. This is top-tier television.

Thought they really did the season finale well and set things up for S2.

So eight bell tolls. Eight bodies it is!

Also, love the hints of all of the crazy shite that has happened getting randomly dropped on the show.

Ruth: “But he got bit by an animal and became that animal”

Rhys’ reaction during Ruth’s confession should win him the Emmy alone. I expected the reveal, but I was also expecting her to turn scary at any moment and fight Tom with some kind of supernatural strength. Bechir was a surprise and I don’t think it will take him long to deduce who the descendant is.

I’m going to be second-guessing every resident for being secretly involved in the sacrifices going forward. Only my girl Patrica is safe from suspicion.

So glad we got a renewal because that was not a limited series finale. Really excited to see where they take this in season two and beyond. There are so many things set up through causal conversation, like the missing trolley guys, that they can flesh out.

Very strong season finale, so much lore that has been casually dropped that we can hopefully see next season.

Just finished it and it’s late, but so damn good.

The bell tolled 8 times at the end, and if my memory serves right…there’s two clues on that:

1 - believe I remembered it tolled 9 times in the previous episode when the priest went to confirm it was “out of service”. This means the hunger is only temporarily satisfied.

2 - Tom didn’t hear the bells the first time, I don’t think…but he clearly heard them this time.

Caveat it’s late and I may have completely whiffed on these two thoughts, but I think both of those points are valid.

it's basically been a ritual of sacrificing and tormenting people for the sake of the island for years ??

We learned this in episode 6, did we not?
