Calm down, dude.

Someone who boldly claims a masterpiece of comedy writing and performance has zero laughs should have thick enough skin to handle a light-hearted down-vote shout.

the biggest decision will be who does Apple submit for Emmy awards? Everyone?

Rhys obv for best actor but who the hell do you pick for supporting actor/actress?

HBO won't but apple better submit the actress who plays Patricia for her headpiece alone.

Easily it's going to be Stephen Root.

He's so good, but Rhys and Kate O'Flynn are so awesome.

I love writing and characters, Patricia is amazing. Widow's Bay is a great capture of intelligent thought.

I'm sad and disappointed some people can't appreciate it.

The Emmy submissions happened recently and Apple picked the ones below. The nominees will be announced July 8.

quote:

Rhys — an Emmy winner for The Americans and also a contender this year for Netflix's limited series The Beast in Me — will be entered as Best Comedy Actor for his role as the beleaguered Tom Loftis. Several ensemble players will also be submitted: Kevin Carroll (Bechir, the town's sheriff), Stephen Root (Wyck, the town's crackpot), Kingston Rumi Southwick (Evan, Tom's son), and Jeff Hiller (town hall employee Dale) in supporting actor; Kate O’Flynn (Patricia, Tom's assistant), Dale Dickey (Rosemary, the cantankerous town clerk), and K Callan (Ruth, Tom's secretary) in supporting actress. Betty Gilpin (as Sara Warren, the interpid wife of the town's founder) will be entered as guest actress, while Hamish Linkater (town founder Richard Warren) and Tim Baltz (ghostly serial killer/clown William) will be entered as guest actor.

2nd Thought during my rewatch:

Imagine being Wyck having a weeks long argument with the Mayer about the Island being haunted and the whole time the Mayer is the most haunted looking person on earth. Literally look terrified every moment of the day.

Hey Sammy, I always like a rewatch to get more knowledgeable.

I think this show is great. It’s a Lost, Severance, Leftovers. That’s my space.

ETA:

Apple TV is just killing IMO. The show I dislike actually has some of my fav actor and Munn.

From a story telling standpoint I like the idea of Ruth being Lauren’s secret mom, but I don’t think they’ve laid the groundwork.

I still wouldn’t mind if it was a big reveal. But the show is pretty
meticulous with its foreshadowing.
I feel like they would have mentioned her parents or something

I think with how much they doubled down on Ruth having no children in the last episode, can't have much longer to live, etc, they've set up a secret child pretty well. I mean, having just one geriatric citizen being the last person remaining that will eventually end the curse if they just wait a little longer probably is way too simple for the show.

It was interesting she was the only member of town that didn't make it to the bunker. Would for sure be interesting if she is aware of everything, so knew she'd be fine. Obviously her just being old is just as likely an excuse, but just something I thought about.

Also, we still have no idea what is in Loftis' basement. I need ansewrs

They definitly cannot resolve he curse this season (I think they’re renewed for 2 more)

But breaking the covenant would only mean people could leave, the island was still killing everyone before they made the covenant.

The first thing I thought about when I heard that joke was the history of Pawnee on Parks and Rec. It was only later that I found out the creator of Widow's Bay was a producer and writer on Parks and Rec. Seen through that lens, the town of Widow's Bay is basically a horror version of Pawnee, with the same type of wacky townsfolk on the periphery of the main characters (dumb drug dealer, lighthouse guy, etc.)

Yeah that is just an eye opening description of the show. I was talking to my wife about all the painting of shipwrecks being like the murals at city hall.

I hate his video games because each cutscene is longer than a season of this show, but I’m a big fan of his movie/show reviews.

Yeah Episode one had me thinking about the Mayor in Jaws too and the music in parts had me thinking about Twin Peaks.

I believe I read that this was just going to be an episode of parks and rec....then it morphed into this show. Wild.
