I won’t even let my kids read threads where people mention other people using the lord’s name in vain. I don’t want them to know that saying things like that is even a possibility.

Newsflash, they’re doing it when they’re not around you.

When I was in the service industry, the owner of the restaurant I was at said that we had to be nice to every customer, no matter how rude they were. But if they started cussing, we were allowed to walk away and dismiss them as trash. When I told one guy I didn’t have to talk to him once he started cussing, he told me little kids cuss and it don’t mean shite. I told him my kids didn’t cuss, knowing it would piss him off even more. :)

Recently I found out the gospel at church was Exodus 20:7, so I escorted my children out. Why would the Bible expose children to the possibility of that kind of language?
Fortunately the next week was Exodus 21, so they learned about beating slaves instead of saying the lord’s name in vain.

Just started watching Succession and there is a "frick off" in every scene. It's starting to get annoying.

Your president through around a few GD's in a rally a couple weeks ago.

I know a few people who curse in casual conversation and it annoys me. I mean I curse when I lose my temper, but not all the time. I don’t think it adds anything to the enjoyment of the movies.

Well i dont know what to tell you. You are an adult that is annoyed by cursing.
And just to counteract the inevitable arguments, studies have shown that intelligent people curse more. Source

I don’t mind a little language. I’m not letting my 6 year old watch it, mainly because he’s a sponge and repeats everything. Don’t want to deal with getting a call from his teacher if he drops some cuss words in Kindergarten.
It does bother me when grown men, working in a supposed professional setting, can’t go through one meeting without saying frick. We all get frustrated at things at work but when it’s a part of almost every conversation I have with you it loses any sort of impact you’re trying to make.

The older I get the more I are about this and I’m just not going to sit down and watch something that curses and takes the lords name in vein for no reason
I get it to an extent to tell a story but like I like billburr and I mean, he would be just as funny if he did t say gd every other sentence

I don't think the kids on Stranger Things cursed any more than the kids on The Goonies.
Chunk even got an "aww shite" in before the credits were done rolling.

I get it when it's mafia movies, cop movies, war movies, guy's night out movies, or something that is about a period where life was tough, like Deadwood, Max Max, etc., but it gets really old fast with some movies. F-bombs are especially overused.

On a different side of things watching tv/movies without curse words is tough for me. It just seems too fake when something extreme happens to a character (gets shot, wrecks, etc...) and no one curses.

If you think Stranger Things is bad, don't watch The Boy's. Language doesn't bother me but Butcher was a little over the top sometimes.
