Jenny was a victim at childhood and it fricked her up. Her friendship with Forest went past love. Where others looked down on him, Jenny always accepted him and cared for him enough to not drag him into her screwed up life because she knew that Forest literally saw no wrong in anything she did.
In a way, she's a bit like Anakin Skywalker.

Some people may have read the actual book and realize Jenny is actually a good person and that Forrest and LT Dan are the frickups. Forrest could have had a great life with Jenny but him and Lt Dan screwed it up. Ohh and Kenny Stabler

No doubt she was drugged out and banged as lot of dudes, but I think she genuinely cared about Forest( they grew up together) and the child was his.

I agree to a degree with that.
But it's pretty clear also that she only came back into Forest's life (with his kid) because she was dying. Had she not contracted HIV/AIDS (I assume) she would've likely kept a son and his father separated for......reasons? frick her.
