Eric Taylor without a doubt
Eric Taylor's lack of coaching acumen is laid bare when he wastes most of the first season at East Dillon refusing to put the ball in the hands of his only good players. They had to convince him to run the offense through Vince and Luke, which should've been obvious the first day they were together at practice.

Who is the best television coach of all time?
TELEVISION, people.
Just because you saw a theatrical movie on a TV set doesn't make it TELEVISION.

Only person I knew who had that name, and I like the name.
Hayden Fry? He was coach at Iowa at the same time this show was on.
I remember when Minnesota State played Alabama and I thought that was the coolest thing as a kid. This was the year after Stallings title in '92.

How is this not Hayden Fox? He carried an entire show for like 10 years.
Man, I loved that show as a kid even though I didn’t care about college football and only marginally cared about football at all (played but wasn’t fixated on it). Just great overall writing I guess.
