re: Who here enjoyed Infinity War more than Endgame?

IW is better but Endgame is significantly underrated.
The fact that Marvel pulled off an ending to the MCU is still amazing to me. People forget just how bad everything else flubbed the landing around that time (Looking at you, GOT).
Time travel does suck, but they did one of the better jobs of it, both in setting up how they were planning on having it work and in the payoff with time travel (closure for Thor, Iron Man, and Cap, eventually). Revisiting the OG Avengers movie was very fun and meta, also.
And then you had the "on your right"/Avengers Assemble scene, which was the best scene in the entire MCU.

Have only seen the movie just once but didn’t they revisit the big war? And the scene where Cap fights himself was a repeat scene they added to. Wasn’t there a Loki scene they revisited?

And Thor >>>>>> Captain Marvel, who thought it was a good idea to introduce her just so she can chew scenery and vanish for the rest of the movie to pop in at the end with that karen haircut (that my wife immediately made fun of) just so she could look good beating up Thanos until he quite literally punched her out of the movie.
They were stupid to drop her movie after Endgame. People needed her backstory prior to endgame.
They needed to drop Black Widow before endgame also imo.

Infinity War excelled at following several different story arcs. There was so much going on that the movie was constantly filled with action and suspense but not in a way that left you feeling overwhelmed. The way they managed to jump from story arc to story arc without being overwhelming, predictable, or leaving the audience feeling like things were left out or cut short is pretty impressive
That thor wakanda entry scene was great as well, but I think the captain america behind the train entry scene was very underrated
Endgame was enjoyable but suffered from lack of action in an action based genre. I do not think being the next avengers movie on the heels of infinity war did it any favors. However the final battle portion of the movie from captain getting thor's hammer to the portals opening, to "avengers assemble" to the iron man snap was a well executed and fitting cap to the era

I'm always confused when people gripe about a movie being to long. You knew how long it was going to be before you watched it.
i think people complained about how long the movie "feels", not necessarily it's actual runtime.
example:
The Green Mile was actually longer than End Game was.
but while watching, it just seems like End Game takes longer to get there.

and seeing them actually get their arse kicked at the end was great.

To me its good seeing heros get worked every now and then.
Where is the fun in seeing them constantly win over and over again?

As good as the portal scene is in Endgame, Thor's arrival in Wakanda was even more epic.
Possibly because it happened first, possibly because the action starts back up almost immediately, but regardless as stoked as I was at the portal scene - Bifrost delivering Thor with Rocket and Groot was just monumentally epic.
Thor is Endgame's true flaw (they didn't know what to do with a character powerful enough to kill Thanos so they had to weaken him, and kept Captain Marvel in space until the very end).
Think of this way:
Imagine, as they have a time machine, instead of going right away they take time to get Thor into shape and wait for Captain Marvel to get back. Regular events still occur, but when Thanos arrives he has to deal with a fully-powered Thor and Captain Marvel. He doesn't last 30 seconds.
IW > Endgame.

Her movie DID come out before Endgame. It released between the two.

It probably needed to be released during the time frame that it's set (right after Civil War).

I don't think it's even a debate IW>Endgame.

While Endgame did its job admirably, it followed arguably the best comic book/superhero movie of all time.

Infinity War has no down point to it, before you know it the movie was over. Endgame kinda dragged at points. Also in Infinity War, we saw the best version of the OG heroes, in Endgame we saw the worse. Steve is out of practice, Tony been retired. Natash no longer do field work, Clint is tired, Hulk is no longer strong...althought he was a puss in Infinity War too. Then finally Thor is fat.
Infinity War was just better and Thanos was meancing. Endgame Thanos make no sense. To me they could have pluck a thanos from a minute before and now have two thanos, and nother, and then another.

Endgame wrapped it up nicely but Infinity War is much more re-watchable to me.
I agree.
But I could watch Cap wielding mjolnir on repeat.

It was like they couldn’t do “girl power!!!” without being so damn obviously girl power. The marvel universe is replete with strong women yet they had to make it such a fabricated focal point.
One of the worst aspects of that scene is the fact that Wasp is in it. They are trying to fix the Pym machine in the van as that “yass, Queens!” moment happens.
Who have we shown to be the expert they? Wasp or Ant-man? So, she abandoned something she is actually the expert on in order to be a strong, powerful woman somewhere else.

I’ve never met a person that doesn’t agree. I thought End Game was what it needed to be. It’s like Breaking Bad. The third to last episode was the best but that doesn’t take away from the final episodes which wrapped it up nicely.
