About to start a watch of these with my teenage son who has never watched them. I’ve always liked them as a solid action flick. How do you rank them.
Bourne Identity
Bourne Supremacy
Bourne Ultimatum
Jason Bourne
The Bourne Legacy
Bourne Identity
Bourne Supremacy
Bourne Ultimatum
Jason Bourne
The Bourne Legacy

Identity is still the best for me. Followed by supremacy.

Probably Identity, but Ultimatum felt like a game-changer itself in 2007.

I was hoping they would have done one where Bourne teams up with Aaron Cross from The Bourne Legacy.

Which one really dialed up the shaky cam? The one where two people couldn't have a conversation without the constant shaking/zooming?
frick that one.

Ultimatum is the best but Identity is my favorite to watch, if that makes any sense.

The 1988 Bourne Identity starring Richard Chamberlain
The 88 mini series was close enough to the Cold War to still be true to the source material. I enjoyed everything about the mini series except Richard Chamberlain. Other than being the king of tv mini series at the time, he was a not a good choice to play Jason Bourne. Tall, skinny with zero athleticism did not a badass assassin make.
Matt Damon was an excellent Jason Bourne. And while his version came along so long after the Cold War for that and Carlos the Jackal to be the antagonist, I wish the Damon version had stayed truer to the source material, only with an updated target. The changes to Marie and tread stone were totally unnecessary.

The first three are very good. I like Identity the best. The last two were awful. Jason Bourne was just a shitty remake of the second one, and Legacy was just bland and lifeless, starring Renner who Family Guy described as "he's like a young Popeye."

By today's standards I would agree. In 1988 RC couldn't do anything wrong. Admittedly, I like RC. They type of dramatic acting style was different than now and it doesn't translate so well.
Also, I have to note that Shogun is one of the best mini series ever made.

Supremacy.
Beating that dude's arse with a newspaper was awesome.

One of the greatest tv epics ever! And RC was perfect in that role. Haven’t thought about it in a long time. Need to find it to see how well it has aged.

Nothing highlighted how well Matt Damon turned an emotionless robot into an interesting character quite as well as how Jeremy Renner made a similar character absolutely suck.

I've only watched the first one. Do they need to be watched in order, or is each one its own story?

I guess I'm the only one that liked Legacy. But yes, Identity is the best for sure.

Not a popular choice I know but I liked Legacy best followed by Identity.
