Boogie Nights is really good.
There were two discs to it.
Carlito's Way had some awesome songs but they weren't on the soundtrack.

Krull is up there for me...Guilty pleasure of a movie for me, but James Horner absolutely made it bearable with the soundtrack.
From the John Williams catalog: Empire Strikes Back/Superman/Dracula

Soundtrack or film score?
I find it hard to compare Conan to Forrest Gump, but that's just me.
There are actually more categories:
1. Original Score (Conan, Star Wars, etc.)
2. Score Compositions (Something like 2001, where it's all instrumental that has been done before)
3. Original Music (Songs that were made for movies one way or another. Usually not great and hard to determine)
4. Music Compilation (Taking Songs that were already released and putting them on a an album: Forrest Gump, Singles, DaC)

Star wars got me thinking. For classical music I would think Empire strikes back and Fantasia by Disney.
Agree with Dazed and Confused, Oh Brother where art thou and Forrest Gump for later era. American Graffiti was great also.

Second Hi-Fidelity and Rushmore.
For "score" I really loved the music that was put together for Fantastic Mr. Fox.
