What's an IP you'd love to see in a movie/TV but know they couldn't do justice?

I've read Red Rising twice through and while it's an incredible story, there seems like no way to pull that off without unless CGI develops dramatically.
Mass Effect is another one.

Malazan would be difficult to pull off but would love to see it

The Corpse Danced at Midnight.

This- who plays Holden and who plays the Kid?

The Mistborn Trilogy. Would be really hard to explain the magic systems (plural) properly through mere exposition.

I agree. It would have to be animated to work well.

The Illuminatus! Trilogy

Any IP with current Hollywood culture. They are incapable of staying true to any existing story.

A streaming service could theoretically make a great show out of the Drizzt Do'Urden series. There's already plenty of source material. But they probably wouldn't want to touch a property where the evil society is a dark-elf matriarchy without trying to justify it somehow.

Hyperion Cantos. Stranger In a Strange Land or The Moon Is a Harsh Mistress.

Harry Turtledove's invasion series. 14 books about an alien invasion during ww2 forcing the Axis and Allies to align. Aliens win but only claim some territory. Start bringing aliens in and they live amongst us. Many wars back and forth. Humanity progresses faster than they do and eventually eclipses them in tech.
Would make a cool series at least.
Or same author, his southern victory series, but I can see that one not going over well.

It seems impossible to do it justice. But not completely. This is a pretty good enactment of the Eschaton scene which never fails to crack me up.

A good live action Doom. Don’t even bring up that piece of shite they did with The Rock

Live action Exo-Squad and also the Honor Harrington book series.

What aspects of Red Rising do you think they wouldn't be able to translate to the big screen?
