He had a respectable career.
A Fish Called Wanda was great. Silverado was very good. Dave was pretty good. Wild Wild West was not.
And a long marriage in Hollywood is very impressive

He was in a few movies as recently as 2021, and has a new show coming on Apple, and like you said he was still doing work in bobs burgers since then. So I don’t think that really classifies as disappearing. It’s not uncommon for actors to take a few years between projects, especially someone at his age.

i think it's less an expectation and more than we just dont think about them aging past the last time we saw them in something. like in my mind Gene Hackman is still somewhere in his early 60s waiting for his next role as a senior military commander. same for Sean Connery, who died four years ago at the age of 90 lol.

A film being stupid and an industry joke and a blight on the franchise does not make it fun.
