None. The release of a crappy sequel doesn’t make the original disappear.

While generally true, a sequel can frick up the lore of the original and the “after credits” of the original movie (what we as the audience think of having continued to happen).

The Predator sequels all are a good example of the former - in the original we’re given the feeling that there was only one man who could have defeated one of them and it was a brutal fight to the end that almost killed our hero, but in all of the sequels they are far more easily dispatched giving the impression that the Predators aren’t nearly as powerful.

Bloodsport 2 was a prime example of the latter - the sequel stated that Frank Dux had been killed in some non-meaningful way. That’s the exact opposite of how I would’ve imagined the character living on after the events of the original movie.

This doesn’t mean that you can’t watch the original in all its glory as a stand alone, but the sequel does indeed frick up the original if watched as a whole.

Karate Kid - Didn't need sequels or the shitty reboot.
Ghostbusters - ^^

Charlie's Angels - I hate how they take a character away then act like his name was a position. "Youre the new Bosley."
XXX - "Youre the new Triple X"

Not so much a sequel, but the remake of True Grit sucked.

The Last Jedi made the character arcs in the OT become meaningless.

All Back to the Future movies are good. Second may be one of the best. The third has plenty of rewatchability.

Unpopular, but I like the sequels. Not as much, but I like them.

No movie was ever ruined by a sequel. The first movie never changes.

You basically nailed it. John wick only needed 1 movie. No plot really.

I think some movies work better as a duo though and are ruined by a trilogy.

I specifically thought of him when I made this thread for Wick and Matrix

I’ve got no hate for the guy. Keanu seems like an amazing dude.

Thought of a few more

Pitch Perfect.

Fun quirky movie that they felt a need to make 2 worthless sequels with.
