Black Sails, The Newsroom, Samurai Champloo (not an anime guy, but that was awesome) The Knick, Parks and Rec, Eastbound and Down.

We still didn't get a full ending to that series.

The Wire. The final montage tied the entire series together perfectly with everything coming full circle and the kids turning into the adults.

I didn’t realize it was a 2 part finale and I watched The first episode thing “this is it” and I was Furious.

Second part really is one of the most satisfying ending of any series.

I like Shows that can do flash forward and let you know everything works out.

Yea it tragically ended too soon, such a great show, but I think that was one of the few cliffhanger endings that actually worked really well.

Breaking Bad was perfect. Even the two episodes before it could have been a finale.

Mad Men at the top of the list. Reasons:

1. Very few, if any, saw it coming
2. It didn’t insult anyone’s intelligence. In fact, it took some reflection to really understand how brilliant it was
3. The characters had very satisfying, consistent, and/or believable endings

Also, Scrubs, Breaking Bad, Justified, and Fringe

And honorable mention in that the original series finale was supposed to be season 5 - Supernatural. That was probably the GOAT but not a true series finale

hell yeah, I thought it was perfect. It was a funny lighthearted sitcom, but the finale gave us everyone's story wrapped up in a neat bow and everyone's lives are just so perfect and happy and doing pretty much exactly what you'd want/expect them to be doing.

Seinfeld was great
That 70’s Show had a good finale despite the final season being really bad
Malcom in the middle had a great send off
Chuck’s ending wasn’t bad
Flight of the Conchords hada great ending

If they hadn’t split up the final season and had it a year apart it probably would’ve been more impactful. Still a great finale though.

I really think The Office had one of the best written finales ever. Especially considering the last few seasons were kind of subpar.

We would have missed some amazing episodes afterwards, but even Face Off would have been a great finale.

As for the OP:

Burn Notice deserves a mention here.

Now if we want to talk about an abrupt changes to characters, Eric Matthews is the most abrupt I’ve ever seen.

Breaking Bad is proof that everyone saying GOT fans are just hating because the ending isn’t happy is stupid.

Yep. The whole “your just mad it’s over” thing is so dumb. They act like it’s the first big time show to ever end
