My answer for this for a long time was Dune. If Denis Villeneuve can't pull it off then it isn't possible on the big screen.

The Dogs of War could have been done much better.

I would like a live action Dragonball movie that doesn't suck. Let the guys from Team Four Star write it.

Wild Wild West

Eragon

The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy

Highlander

The Black Cauldron faithfully remade as a 5-part animated Chronicles of Prydain.

Had this conversation last night. We were reminiscing about how much we liked the last starfighter growing up and I wondered why nobody had come up with a sequel for it.
We then all watched the movie and laughed that maybe a remake would be proper.

The Wild Wild West

Done right it could be a hit franchise that also reinvigorated box office appeal for the western genre

How The West Was Won

Godzilla - I want a remake of the 1954 original. Very dark, no cheesy humor, no other monsters.

the last starfighter

I was coming here to say this. Great 80’s movie!!!
Instead of a coin-op machine, they use a home based gaming station as the recruiter for the next starfighter
