Only tape I remember us owning was called VHS Head Cleaner. It sucked. My dad did have a “private” collection but none of them were very obscure. I’m thankful for that now.

There’s alot but the one that would most qualify as “semi-obscure” that I recall watching with my dad a lot:

We had a decent homemade VHS collection in my house.
Would tape movies off TV, would borrow neighbors VCR to copy rentals, and they would occasionally do free HBO weekends and we'd record those movies as well.
Most of what we had was pretty mainstream but the most random was probably Innerspace.

I remember my parents having this one for some reason.

Ruthless People. I still use the “ghandi would strangle that woman” line.

Exile - We had a recording of this from the Wonderful World Of Disney collection. A bunch of teens get stranded on a deserted island. Corey Feldman kills a pig, one of them gets their foot caught in a rock and drowns, not sure how it ended though because it skipped to Pete's Dragon.

Little Marines - Didn't own it, but rented it every other weekend as a kid. Pretty sure our local video store had the only copy in a 500 mile radius.

Fuzzbucket - My cousins had this recorded and we watched it just about every time I stayed over there

Really not that obscure, but I still meet a lot of people who have never heard of it.

I had a copy of that.
Dirtbike kid and rad.
For me. My grandparents had a taped copy of History of the World pt1 that I would watch with friends all the time as a kid. But that's not obscure.
Also on the tape was this fricked up X rated cartoon called "The 9 lives of Fritz the Cat" and we would watch it and think we were adult.
A lot of cartoon sex and other things.

Not movies i watched frequently, since they were rentals, but I have strong memories of two obscure movies my dad randomly selected from the video store for me (I would have picked something mainstream or a Godzilla movie)
The latter one I ended up unknowingly reading the book a few years later. I had the realization part way through that it was the random movie my dad and I rented
