Watching Braveheart on AMC right now and seeing how brutal it is. Definitely has to be up there in the most violent/gruesome category. What are some others?

Hot Shots Part Deux obviously. They had the death count and it was the bloodiest movie of all time.

I can think of plenty violent movies but many were not good movies so the graphic violence didn't really stick with you.

I'm sure there are plenty more violent movies but the first few that jump into my head for whatever reason:

Saving Private Ryan
The Passion of the Christ
Hostel
Scarface

Honorable Mention: Rambo(the most recent one)

Most of the Tarantino movies are pretty violent. Django Unchained will undoubtedly continue that trend.

Other than the Uma vs the crazy 88s scene in Kill Bill 1 there really isn't much on screen violence in his movies. Certainly nothing too graphic.

The beach landing first 20 minutes of "Saving Private Ryan" is hard to beat as far as violence goes.

I guess you're right. In RD's they pan away from the act when Mr. Blonde cuts off the cop's ear so they really don't show it. It's kind of like Scarface when they don't show the chainsaw cutting the guy. I guess RD's is just bloody as hell.

Umm, you must not remember much about the film then. It was insanely violent, plus that scene was for 25 minutes of the entire film. Here are some others:

This is all pretty tame for me. Maybe the movies I normally watch are much worse than I thought.

It's not the MOST violent, but when Joe Pesci get's beat to death with a bat in Casino, I can't look. That shite is brutal.
