They have almost no new original series' that look worth watching. The raised by wolves trailer looked pretty cool, but other than that it appears that they are really going down the drain.

Coastal Elites & We Are Who We Are both look trash.

Is the third day any good?

They make a great 1st season of programming.

Then it gets over with an audience, and instead of the people who made it successful continuing to move forward..the success draws attention from everyone, and everyone there has to micromanage, give input and make it "acceptable to a wider audience"..or AKA shooting themselves in the foot.

Well, they greenlight everything, so they probably have 5 years worth of original content stockpiled. They're the Mormons of tv and movies.

What? Heres a list of very successful multi-season HBO series:

Entourage
Sopranos
The Wire
Veep
Curb Your Enthusiasm
Oz
Girls
True Blood
Boardwalk Empire
Six Feet Under

Shows that are still being produced which will keep going for a while

Westworld
Barry
Insecure
High Maintenance
Perry Mason
Lovecraft Country

Just because you're not a fan of their current productions, doesn't mean HBO isn't the best at producing quality programming.

And westworld blew after season 1

All good shows but nothing new being put out by them is near as good as any of these.

Barry and Succession are the only two shows that I think are good they've put out in the past couple of years. Aside from GoT (which season 8 was a dumpster fire)

Every one of these shows were green-lit by Richard Plepler who stepped down as HBO's CEO after 27 years in February of 2019 due to AT&T's WarnerMedia meddling.

As others have pointed out, COVID has really slowed down TV production. However, there are also 2 bigger picture answers to your question

1) AT&T bought HBO's parent company and HBO CEO Richard Plepler decided it was time to leave. That was February of 2019.
2) HBO used to be the main network trying to do what it does. Now every streamer is trying to become HBO so there's a lot of competition for new shows.

Lol it's funny how the last season or two of Game of Thrones made everyone forget it was the biggest show in the world. By a lot.

frick anyone and everyone who ruined the end of that series.

Same. Well, actually I canceled after season 2 of Succession. But those were the last two great things I watched on the home box office.

Wasn't better than Breaking Bad imo. But,..I'm glad that was owned by Sony and just licensed by AMC. I can't imagine how bad AMC would have dropped the ball on that had they had any input.

GOT is actually 1 case where HBO should have stepped in and protected their investment. Someone should have done something lol.

I was just talking about it last night..in the end, the only death that felt like it meant anything was Theon. Arya could have stabbed the night king..just let Jon fight him first.

Jamie..Cersei..Melisandre..Varys..Daenerys..Euron..Night King..etc..all those deaths basically meant nothing.

This show is awesome so far. I can't believe they relegated it to HBO Max. It's definitely good enough to be on regular HBO.

Yeah I was more comparing it to everything that was on at the same time (although there might have been some overlap from the end of BB and the beginning of GOT). I have several shows I think were better than GOT. Several HBO shows.

Haven’t been able to film since February. We are going to be in a drought for a while with no new content. Be ready to watch all the Netflix original movies that have been sitting on the shelves for a few years
