What book(s) do you wish they would make a movie(s) on?

I would love it if they did a 3 or 4 part movie series on The Silmarillion (Tolkien). Heck, they could turn that thing into a "cinematic universe" with 10 or more movies if they wanted to.

Isn't that the basis of the upcoming Amazon LotR series?

The Necroscope Series by Brian Lumley would make an outstanding HBO/Netflix/Amazon series.

Not a movie. But I would love a well-thought out, patient, and well-budgeted series on the Red Rising novels.

I'd love an episodic HBO series based on the World War Z episodic stories.

You can't really make a movie out of it, but there would be a ton of great episodes to fill out an hour episode.

I have visions of a modern version of The Cask of Amontillado that I would write myself if I wasn't lazy and stupid

World War Z

Actually based off the book, of which the movie had ZERO in common with.

James Patterson's "Private" series. About a private investigation team.

Each book is in a different setting i.e. Paris, London, Australia, India, Las Vegas, etc.

They are all independent books.

They have a similar feel to Jack Reacher books.

ETA: I would prefer a series opposed to movies.

This is the book that should be a movie that just can't get made.

If they had done the Jack Ryan reboot right, cast Denzel as John Clark. Then get the best in the game at digital de-aging and do a Without Remorse prequel.

It's basically his Equalizer character.

Pretty sure it's in the works. Pierce is writing the series.

Also I absolutely cannot get through Dark Age. It is just boring the hell out of me, I'm like 25% through. Have you read it yet? does it get better?

The Riyria novels would be an awesome Netflix/HBO series.

Any one of them would be amazing if done right, but the entire Heir of Novron story line is just awesome.

I have wanted a good, live action version of the The Chronicles of Prydain by Lloyd Alexander since I was a kid.

I'd like to see a David Fincher style movie done on the Murder in the Bayou book. The whole story behind the Jefferson Davis 8 murders would make a great mystery thriller.

Well, you're wrong. The movie has been in the works for a couple years and is being released on Sept 18, 2020. Michael B. Jordan is playing Clark.

Also, the plan is for it to be a two movie series with the second being Rainbow Six.
