The final battle of Platoon is incredibly intense. Especially when they drop the napalm.

The scene in Serenity when they burst through the clouds while being chased by reavers is one of the best battle scenes in any sci-fi movie.

Lot's of great ones mentioned already so I'll go a little out there for mine.
The gunfight in the middle of the city in Heat.(If you don't consider this a battle scene then you haven't seen it)
Another one that always stuck with me is in The Patriot when they watch the two armies line up and proceed to shoot each other in an "honorable" manner. Really does a good job of showcasing the absurdity of that type of warfare.
The battle of Hachiman Field in Ran is fricking amazing.

I actually prefer the final battle in SPR. The tense prelude, the strategy and struggle.

Agreed. I've seen just about every military / war movie worth seeing and nothing comes close to the first assault in Hacksaw Ridge IMO.
Can't think of a specific battle but the "Vikings" series has some epic shite.

The Battle of Okinawa from "The Pacific" miniseries: I never thought a recreated WWII battle could top the D-Day invasion in "Saving Private Message", but this was just extremely brutal and terrifying to watch. It broke one of the main characters and it was just horrifying to see a lot of Okinawans kill themselves/be killed.
Helms Deep from Lord of the Rings- Hard to find a better correographed/shot fantasy battle than this one on film. The build-up to the battle was masterfully executed.

That was a great scene. Similar style to BotB where it focuses on Harington and keeps shifting based on location/action.

Battle 9f Stirling, yes is probably the best "battle" scene.
But the most cinematically beautiful and intriguing one is the Prussians vs the Red Coats in Barry Lyndon.
