Starting Lost again, the first time for my wife, and the pilot is just so damn good. It establishes the characters, the mystery, and Giacchino’s score kills it. What are some others

Terminator the Sarah Connor Chronicles.

While I think Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines is okay, this show really felt like an extension of Terminator 2: Judgement Day and I like to think of it as the canon continuation of the series.

LOST’s Pilot will never be topped. It’s objectively the greatest pilot episode of all time. Until Game of Thrones, it was by far the most expensive television episode ever shot, and tons of heads rolled at ABC for approving of such a risky and expensive project before it ever hit the airwaves. It changed television forever.

Regardless if you want to count the miniseries, or the actual first episode “33,” BSG has a pretty damn fine opening.

(Just giving some variety to LOST)

Miami Vice

This, the pilot was better than a lot of movies from that period. Just a couple tweaks, and it's an R rated movie.
Which, in this case, is a compliment
