I'd you like Ed Harris and Viggo, then I'd suggest A History of Violence

Cadence. It’s always my go to in threads like these. Charlie and Martin Sheen, Larry Fishburne. About a white soldier in a military prison who gets put in an all black barrack.
Martin Sheen is such a prick in this movie.

Alin Arkin stars in The Return Of Captain Invincible (1983)
Sort of a DC comics meets the Rocky Horror Show
The US government's latest secret weapon is stolen, and the only man who can find it is an alcoholic ex-superhero. Captain Invincible.
A hilarious, rock-opera parody of DC/Marvel superhero comics. To give away too much of the ridiculously ramshackle plot would be to spoil it, but you suspect this film was inspired by Christopher Lee's lament that he never starred in a musical comedy.
Arkin is so great in this movie. Dude just cracks me up. And, Lee steals the film as the dastardly arch-villain Mr. Midnight, belting out his numbers in a fine bass-baritone, as scantily clad slave girls massage his jodhpured thighs. Unforgettable.
You won't regret it.
just thnking about it.

Breaking Away
The Man Who Would Be King
OMG! Other people have seen these! Thought I was the only one. The dad in Breaking Away was nominated for Oscar and rightly so.
Classics:
Ben Hur (eleven academy awards, and it is not the story of a chariot race)
The Graduate (Dustin Hoffman, Katherine Ross, Anne Bancroft and others you may recognize - seven Oscar nominations, Mike Nichols won Best Director)
Slaughterhouse Five (based on the book by Kurt Vonnegut, won the Jury Prize at the Cannes Film Festival)
Guilty Pleasures:
A Little Romance - Diane Lane (Young Artist Award), Sir Lawrence Olivier (Golden Globe nominee Best Actor, won Oscar for Best Original Music Score, nominee for Best Writing)
Starman - Jeff Bridges (nominee for Best Actor), Karen Allen - nominee for Best Science Fiction film
Peggy Sue Got Married - Nicolas Cage, Kathleen Turner - the two stars did not get along and Turner said Cage was drunk and stole a dog, for which he later sued her and won, but the movie is still entertaining.
The Little Girl Who Lived Down the Lane - Jodie Foster, Martin Sheen (won two Saturn Awards, including Best Horror Film, though no bloody gore - Foster objected to a nude scene, though her older sister was the body double, and still omits the film from her credits)

You may have the worst taste in movies than anyone I’ve ever met

Two I have recently seen on HBO/Showtime
Never Look Away. German film nominated for 2 Oscars. First German film since Das Boot. It is subtitled, but probably one of the best films I’ve seen in the last 10 years. Hard to imagine that most of it is a true story. And the female lead will help you through any parts you find slow
Yesterday. I enjoyed the shite out of this movie so much, I recently watched it again. If you like the Beatles, it is a must
