I'm caught up now.

So we have 3 timelines this season it appears:

1) Before the fall, this is Maeve and Caleb failing
2) During the new order - the new Delores writing stories for fly controlled humans
3) 15 years after the fall and Caleb's daughter is a part of a resistance and just met Bernard for the first time

(I am getting the 15 year number from the Westworld official response that Bernard woke up 23 years in the future. We are around 8 years post season 3 for Caleb and Maeve's story, 23 - 8 = 15)

I can dig that. Of course they just can't help themselves but play the timeline game. They just don't know how to tell a good story

They do though, Nolan helped write:
Memento, The Presitge, The Dark Knight, Person Of Interest and more
Lisa Joy wrote:
Pushing Daisies and Burn Notice

The two of them are extremely good at creating overarching thematic stories... I just think the writing staff of Westworld itself has been not as good - or, it's possible HBO has been making them write the show with the jump cuts in it for confusion sake.

So far this season has been really good though, I'm hoping they keep it up. If the new Dolores character is actually in a park, that would mean Halores' "vision" ends up not coming to fruition per say, because Delores appears to be "one of her own" but is still somehow stuck in a loop, which is not the "free" world Helores was gunning for - and hopefully we get some good time within more parks

So where does William's scene at the end of season 2 post-credit fit into all this?

My wife has been wanting me to watch this series with her, so I binged the first three seasons and we're caught up on Season 4.

This entire series drags on like nobody's business. The Feudal Japan World episodes were probably the most enjoyable, as well as the twists along the way. But man they can drag a five episode series out to eight or ten episodes.

This season is better than 3 and the Speakeasy World would probably be my favorite park attraction (but I can see we won't spend much time there, if at all).

That scene is still the farthest out in the timeline. I believe it stays that way until the end.

I’ve actually gone back and watched last episode a couple of more times. I can’t say that about any in season 3.

That was a pretty good episode. Can't believe they wound up the timelines just halfway through.

Damn episode was less than 50 minutes when you take out recap and intro.

Nice head fake on Caleb going through a fidelity test 23 years later.

Maeve is the weapon? That was a nice twist.

Nice seeing William (Ed Harris) get so much screen time after they blew him off last season.

Wondered why Charlotte was going along with Caleb and Maeve. Those handcuffs shouldn't have been able to hold her.

Starting to think Maeve is the most human of them all.

Much better job this season. Show has improved a lot and I am actually starting to make sense of it all.

Yeah, I’m a bit suspicious of this.

It seems they’ve at least taken some of the S2 criticism to heart, but it’s Westworld so you know there’s another twist coming.

My first thought at the end of this episode was “oh shite, Charlotte made a park but now the humans are the hosts and the robots are the guests.” It definitely ties into her “I prefer ‘hosts’” line to Caleb earlier in the episode.

But it doesn’t make much sense because Christina clearly doesn’t understand what’s going on and appears to be reliving the S1 Dolores storyline of breaking out of her loop.

I’m wondering if Charlotte found OG Dolores after her memories were wiped in S3 and stuck her in the new “park” with the humans as a type of punishment. Teddy at least seems to remember the past, with his comment about how it’s her turn to hit on him for once. So maybe he’s trying to “re-activate” her?

im kind of thinking that park/timeline has something to do with 'after the towers fell'. bc of the homeless guy saying such...
she's drawing towers like from a past memory so maybe this is a timeline closer to the daughter and bernard sand digging if the resistance takes down some towers and gets a foothold..

idk timelines are still kinda tough to get a grip of this season.

i think there were a few copies of dolores, and some take divergent paths. i think you may be onto something.
we got a does this look like anything to you question in the ep

Man they have stepped it back up a notch this season. I loved that episode. I'm just glad some of these twists are being revealed throughout the season instead of in the finale they hit you with 5 of them.

The Caleb twist was really good imo. I wasn't expecting that. So Charlores is definitely more of a bad arse than I was giving her credit for, her plan played out well.

Curious what has upgraded William so much. he was become like the Terminator host. Although, that was should have been the end of him.

just seems like they are setting up for another story where they are constantly jumping timelines

Timeline jumping? who would have thought?

But I will say the last two episodes have been good. The scene where the crazy Karen shot Maeve in the "Westworld Massacre plot" was awesome. I like how they added an entire story line that had to do with the host revolting.

So could the Delores we are seeing be in a far future time line based off her friends "nightmares" with the flies...or...

They very well could be in a Park that is still run by Hale? It would makes sense to send all the infected humans now "hosts" to a park to run test/diagnostics/etc. to tweak the controlls..all things they did for the og hosts.

No one seems to know what the tower is (from the paintings etc. very similar to the maze) but clearly in the last episode we see it built. Them being trapped in a park would explain that.

Then there is the Stubb/Bernanrd Timeline. They are sometime in between Caleb dying and his baseline establishment 23 years after the events of the Golden Age park. I'm not sure if Frankie/C looks old enough to be 30 so that makes me think that Bernard/Stubbs is still prior to our new Caleb timeline.

And finally, Maeve and Caleb hosts are without a doubt going to end up "together". Especially now that he is a host.

I haven't read anything up on the episode but I just took the end where Hale went out and paused everything that that was probably the same timeline Christina was in. But I don't guess that makes sense since it was like she was still testing it.

Eh. I would hope they were now caught up. If Caleb is still in a world that can be "saved" from Charlores from taking over, it makes Bernard/C/Frankie time crunch seem right. I wouldnt be a fan of them revealing a mixed timeline for their story, only to reveal later that they still weren't on the same timeline. Looking at C's IMDB, she is 28, so that shouldn't be an issue.

She wasn't testing the system. She was showing off her control to Caleb

Got ya. Why would she do that many experiences on Caleb then? Two hundred and seventy something times. That was the first time he realized what was going on right?

Yea so would I but for some reason I just have this feeling that Bernard/Stubbs/Frankie-C's timeline is before the Charlores/Caleb timeline. Maybe even just by like a year or two..

The only reason I say that is because they pulled a MCU Endgame with the "see into the future/there is only one outcome and Bernard has to die" scene. Makes me think Bernard is going to die in his timeline to either save or revive Maeve which will lead into meeting up with Charlores timeline of onboarding Caleb for a final battle.

Where Delores/Christina fits in I have no clue. It seems she's inside a park (filled with infected humans) that is run by Charlores ? But how did teddy get in there...Last we saw Delores uploaded him to the Valley and made him shoot him worldly self.

And the better question is where did this version of Delores come from? I would think Bernard had to create her, he is the only one that would have the Forge Data and access to the Valley....that would make the most sense. Bernard uploaded a new Delores but knowing she didn't have self awareness after being wiped he brought teddy back from "the valley" in hopes to bring out the badass. Only issue with that theory is how did she and teddy end up in the parks?

I don't think its a park. I think its the world or the USA anyway. Why wouldn't it be?

How long would it take for those flies to spread across the country? Less than a generation of kids, that's for sure.

As for Delores, I think Chalores is using her as a pet. She has said that word several times so we know she likes to use it. As for Caleb, there is something about him that enable him to override the parasite and shoot MIB. She wants to learn what that something is, hence why she keeps him alive.

I'm itching to get caught up, but haven't had the motivation yet. I wasn't as big of a hater of S3 as some on here, but is it on track to be better than S3 so far?

It is. Things are starting to come together.

I thought we were down to one same timeline after last night, but upon thinking about it, I think we have two timelines going.
