WTF does this baby monster have to do with It, Derry, Pennywise, or anything?

First episode was decent enough on its own merit but it didn't feel like it was even in the same universe as It.

Solid first episode.

Agreed. A bit graphic and brutal for the pilot episode but no one can say it dragged

Look forward to where this goes.

Agree with some others that I wasn’t wild about the use of the mutant baby but overall very solid premier

Good episode but I was thinking it was going to be showing the origin of Pennywise. Not just earlier stuff he did prior to the original movies.

I'm pretty sure we're getting that

Based on that photo, is it safe to say that the kid that was killed in the opening scene (Matty?), is Pennywise? That's the same expression that the kid had on his face when they saw him on screen in the movie theater.

Sorry, this is a bit confusing.

Episode 2 was solid. I really liked the scene in the grocery store. And it looks like we will be getting Pennywise’s backstory

Solid first episode.

And not bashful about killing off kids that you felt were being set up for the series. Nice.

I was really surprised by that.

The two boys had to be killed because they were making far too much sense on the tower.

That pickle jar scene and the birthing scene were both pretty sick.

How terrible is that girls mom? She dropped 1 pickle jar and it’s back to the looney bin lol sold out the black theater owner for nothing.

I was under the impression that’s literally what this entire series was for. Am I wrong on that?

I liked the first episode well enough. Interested to see where it goes. The demon baby thing was over the top and borderline stupid, but I’ll roll with it for now.

I need to watch the second half again though because I was exhausted and trying not to fall asleep when I watched it.

Well, Episode 2 was boring as shite.

Pennywise? Where you at?

We know the little black kid in the show. He’s from Hoover, AL. Seems a pretty decent role for him. Hope it sparks big things for him.

We must be watching two different shows. I liked episode 2 better than the first episode.

I stopped watching during about midway through episode 2. Became overly racist. Shut it off.

They started throwing around the word "cracker".

If you read It. The book. This season is dealing with "The Black Spot".
Given the period in time there will be some racism.

Yea, it’s not good. Tried to start it last night, it’s way too trope filled with modern garbage.

We also liked E2. Thought it was well acted. Had some great gore. Both of the young girls are acting their asses off in those scenes with the sheer horror they’re portraying.

It’s more the history of Derry before the events that take place in IT. Which is also intertwined with the history of Pennywise’s involvement in the town. Pennywise is a cosmic entity that landed on Earth in prehistoric times so it’d be more expansive to cover it’s personal history.

Per the book, Pennywise awakens in cycles to feed on children, with their fear “salting the meat”. Every 27 years. In the book, there’s focus on 1958 and 1985 (when Pennywise is defeated permanently). The show is going to focus on other cycle periods.

ETA: Season 1 is based in 1962. Other seasons will probably be featured in 1930s and early 1900s based on the intro that suggest other events that will be covered.
