This was some f’d up shite. The writer is seriously mentally ill to come up with this movie.

I still don't know what the big gun in the sky was all about.

Had to add in some political messaging BS about "gun violence".

It was excruciating until the reveal. It would have been better as an hour long Night Gallery type show.

It was a brilliant movie. Legit creepy. Amy Madigan deserved her Oscar. Thought the other actors were great too. One of the best movies I’ve seen in years. The cop and the meth head were hilarious too.

I thought the movie was pretty good. Up until the last few minutes. The "chase scene" lasted too long and became comical.

This board really has some crazy takes sometimes just to have hot takes. Movie is highly acclaimed (for good reason) and to make it worse this is the same board that complains we have no more original movies. Always something to complain about

I thought the movie was actually excellent until the chase scene. A really well-done horror movie.

And then that scene happened and I was dying laughing and it took me completely out of the movie and almost ruined it for me. It's still a good movie in terms of "creepy horror movie" stuff, but the end is just too stupid for me to take seriously.

And from what I remember, the random gun in the sky thing was a dream the director had and he wanted to put it in the movie. He claimed it was nothing more than that. But any rational person would obviously take that as some sort of political statement, at least on some front. It was just so weird and out of place that it seems like an obvious attempt at a statement.

Only a handful of people on this board have original takes. The rest wait to be told what to think. It's apparent in their talking points/vocabulary used. It's pretty alarming. I wish more people disconnected and practiced original thoughts in discussion.

Same, and yea, at some point even his subconscious was probably making some statement there, it was a weird scene for sure so I don't know how much I believe his story and how much of it was him not wanting to put a big target on the movie before it came out, who knows.

Ending definitely almost ruined the movie for me, just went on so long. Movie was essentially a love letter to his best friend from whitest kid's you know that had killed himself, according to Cregger. There are a ton of references to that show in the movie, like the hotdog scene. The ending was very on par for whitest kid's you know.

In the actual in-game threads when it came out, pretty much a consensus that the movie was good on here.
